It's more tool then party game and if that's what you are looking for I'd recommend Guitar Hero or Rockband

you won't really know how to 'play the guitar/bass' as much as you will know how to 'play a handful of specific songs on the guitar/bass'.Now, if you use this in conjunction with further lessons, it can be a great tool for learning/practicing things like hand positioning and timing.
