    Rode DeadCat Accordion Accessory (DDCGO)

    • Audio was far and away much better, and that's the point.
    • 9 Volt Batteries, Pack of 12I'm not sure which isn't working the way it should, but it's either the mic's built-in wind screen, or the Deadcat Wind Muff, but I recently had a shoot in a moderately windy environment (5-15mph wind/gusts) and I have to say that the audio is bad
    • The audio was very clean with little to no wind noise.
    • I have found that this mic picks up excellent audio, and the wind muff definitely helps in outdoor conditions when it's windy.
    • If you're serious about cleaner audio results buy this, it's a no brainer.
    • the audio in my videos is significantly better when I'm outside and I use this!
    • Before the cover, the audio on my recordings was full of wind noise (a mistake I made just one time.
    • Perfect for vloggers, videographers, cinematographers, etc., who need clean, crisp audio
    • The cover cuts down wind noise nearly completely, and left me with fantastic audio at the end of the shoot
    • If it wasn't for this dead kitten my audio would of been unbearable
    • I really had high hopes for this as the wind screens are meant to help cut down on wind, while not hindering the audio of what is supposed to be heard...quite frankly, I'd take some minor audio muffles if it means I can still hear the people needed to be heard
    • It gets pretty good dialogue audio within about 3 feet
    • and I get not 100% clear audio,
    • the rode videomic pro, you can get some pretty great audio, essential especially for the times you can't rely on other externally recorded audio options.
    • It works and the audio is very clean
    • I bought one with my Rode Videomic. makes the horrible dslr audio sound wayyy better.
    • I personally prefer to record my audio separately, off camera, with a zoom or a tascam, and then sync back in post, but i have found that for certain situations (especially run and gun type filmmaking) that is not always possible, and it's nice to have a good backup of at least decent quality audio with the rode on the camera at all times, just in case something goes wrong with my other audio options
    • If you're buying a DSLR mic, its clear that audio is important to you.
    • helps alot when getting good clear audio
    • I recently shot a memorial video outdoors by a lake and wanted clean audio of the speaker without having to wire him up.
    • But now you need to boost the audio -- and when you do that, you run into increased sensitivity to background noise and potentially even a little bit of that
    • I was expecting going from a built in MIC to a condenser microphone type of quality, but the audio is good, but not a huge jump to make it mind blowing.
    • It blocks out a brief breeze or 2 but beyond that you are going to have awful audio because this thing can't stop bigger gusts of wind
    • so without it I would have had unusable audio
    • Crystal clear audio now possible
    • I have used a rode vmp extensively in the past... the +20db gain setting, when coupled with lowering my DSLR's gain level results in clean, hiss-free audio, that sounds quite decent under the right circumstances (and far, far better than any camera's pitiful internal mics
    • Eliminates handling noise and wind, even in 25 mph gusts! Most DSLR mics are barely usable, but this dinky mic makes great audio.
    • Because of the wind, audio was always a nightmare
    • Simply fantastic! After a few video projects that were marred by poor audio, I knew I needed a wind muff for my outdoor jobs
    • Now i have the same image quality as the hxr nx30u but with better audio and for significantly less money.

    • either cut more wind down, or don't advertise it as a "foam windscreen that minimizes handling and wind noise to keep your recordings crystal clear" since I have everything except "crystal clear" audio
    • Not much to say here but the product works as it should.
    • Otherwise, the windscreen works as it should on my Zoom H4n recorder.
    • People seem confused as to how to put this on the mic based on several other reviews
