I am sure you can rig it but for less than $5, it is a piece of mind since the SSD itself is cheaper than what it was, but still quite expensive.

Feeling the bracket out, the inner two "struts" (what do I call these?) seemed as every bit flimsy and thin as it shows in the picture but thick enough to hold a static piece of hardware in place in a static piece of machine

It's somewhat flimsy piece of metal, but the cutting, punching, sanding, and painting are all of high quality.

All said, a 10 minute job from case off to case on, if that.--Overall thoughts--The function of this mounting bracket is to hold a static piece of hardware in a PC and it does its job well
