It does work well for converting VHS tapes to DVDs, but the DVDs can only be played on a computer.

I was quite worried with all the bad reviews, but so far this product has worked exactly as advertised except for the fact that after copying a DVD, the selection to burn a disk with Toast did not work automatically.
