• Reviews around light (3.65 of 5)

Sabrent USB 2.0/ESATA TO 3.5 Inch IDE or SATA/SATA II Aluminum Hard Drive Enclosure Case with Cooling Fan (EC-UEIS7)

    • Also the LED lights are very bright and light up a dark room.
    • There are bright blue lights running while it is
    • Neat blue lights on it and the power plug
    • Would have given five stars but blue light that shows hard drive activity quit working after five minutes of use.
    • There a some differences between the two units, none which really make any difference to me: ie, the second unit has two blue LED lights that are constantly on to signify power connection, with the "top" light flashing red or "purple (red combined with blue)" to signify drive operation
    • The led lights are a nice touch, bright and blue.
    • They work great, and love the blue led lights in the front
    • Installation of the drive is straight forward and good indicator lights
    • While I realize it houses older IDE drives, it seems like it could be a bit lighter and the stand is not heavy enough to hold the casing very well.
    • There are two LED lights on what I call the front end: a flashing red LED at top (12-18-2013 edit: new drives are blue led only) of the unit indicating when the drive is active (it's off when the drive is inactive); and a solid blue light at the bottom indicating the power is on
    • The fan works well and the blue LED lights on the top and bottom inner-portion of the front vents light up very bright
    • The fan works well and the blue LED lights on the top and bottom inner-portion of the front vents light up very bright
    • Still no idea what the bizarre red/blue lights are supposed to be
    • I removed one star as one of the led blue lights will not operate.
    • Both the Sabrent box and the AC connector have very bright blue lights that are annoying
    • The LED lights are a sweet touch, I must say
    • After a month or so of occasional use, both lights on the housing either dim or go out when the drive is in operation
    • I dimmed the lights by covering them with masking tape
    • If burning electric blue was good for reading it would be a perfect reading light on an otherwise darkened nerd space
    • You may even add dim lit effect so that the LED is low lighting when no drive activity, then blinks brightly when there is drive activity
    • Two things I do not like about this product are the blue light is very bright
    • The fan works well and the blue LED lights on the top and bottom inner-portion of the front vents light up very bright
    • The Led Activity Lights are nothing more than bright blue night lights
    • Compatible with all drives plus the additional feature of a cooling fan and operational lights.
    • Also, the blue light is too bright.
    • There are two bright blue LED lights on one end, I faced these awayfrom me in use, which puts the on/off switch and cables facing the user
    • It has a bright blue light that tells you its on and not all external enclosures do
    • But the box still works normally in eSATA mode, just no light
    • as described I am pleased with the product is very handy light and nicely built
    • When I subsequently plugged it in to eSATA, the lights on the enclosure went dead, and the PC did not see the drive.
    • The led light is for power only, there is no HDD activity light
    • They have a cool red light when the drive is being accessed.2
    • Best of all I have had no i/o issues with the drive.
    • By the way, I also bought an SD card and thumb drive for back-ups, now that 64G is so cheap.
    • On the surface, it would seem the only downside is the USB 2.0 and 3G SATA II limitations, and needing to scrounge up my own eSATA cable
    • I bought one of these enclosures and installed a Seagate SATA ST3500410SV 500G hard drive for use on my MOXI DVR model 3012 (the "black" fronted version), which requires an eSATA external drive.
