Sabrent USB 2.0/ESATA TO 3.5 Inch IDE or SATA/SATA II Aluminum Hard Drive Enclosure Case with Cooling Fan (EC-UEIS7)

    • The enclosure worked and powered on, though the drive was not detected
    • The power and fan worked when turned on, but as soon as the hard drive was connected, the power goes off!
    • I've got 2.5" & 3.5" enclosures, USB 3.0 & USB 2.0 in both sizes, fan cooled, external power supply, you name it.
    • The first unit had a nice rectangular Power supply that was FCC and UL approved which are both very important to me and should be to you as well
    • Either the power was too strong or the fan did not cool enough.
    • I also really appreciate the external power adapter that runs the Diskdrive, instead of drawing power from my computer
    • I thought hard drive failed, but, just not getting enough power.
    • Then I noticed there was a loose power connection
    • It lost power every so often and finally died after 3 1/2 months
    • It seems as if this device is great for SATA, but a shoddy power connector or some other kind of fault with this product ruins working IDE drives
    • It lasted about 15 minutes before it lost power
    • Either the power was too strong or the fan did not cool enough.
    • I tried lightly scraping it just in case, but still has that intermittent power connection
    • The port doesn't make a good connection with the power supply so the enclosure loses power if the enclosure is bumped or moved
    • The ability to accept IDE drives is nice, but it's the rock-solid construction and robust power supply that I like most.
    • It will not work using USB power, power adapter must be plugged in
    • Useless, absolutely useless IDE power adapter with a SATA data connector?
    • This is very annoying, but at least I can put these bulky power adapters in a extension cord
