Sabrent USB 2.0/ESATA TO 3.5 Inch IDE or SATA/SATA II Aluminum Hard Drive Enclosure Case with Cooling Fan (EC-UEIS7)

    • This is a SATA 3 drive that I put in to the very well made unit
    • This unit is quiet and stays cool.
    • I would highly recommend this Sabrent unit to anyone who is looking for something like this.
    • The new unit has a different design inside, and works perfectly
    • Very nice unit comes with everything you need including a screw driver
    • There doesn't seem to be any way to secure the unit to its base
    • For the $20.70 I paid due to one corner of the cardboard box being crushed, it's a good unit and a good buy.
    • The power supply on the replacement unit is an ugly fat unit with a curved back that has no FCC or safety marking on it at all
    • Two units worked without a problem
    • This unit worked great for IDE or PATA but this does not have hardware for the SATA.I like to put in a 5 star if it had hardware for SATA
    • I won't focus on how well this unit functions or it's physical makeup, etc. as there are so many reviews already, but I will say quickly that it does have a solid build and works perfect via USB 2, and quick enough for my needs
    • I would recommend this as a unit to hold backup files and not used on a daily basis.
    • Excellent unit!
    • Good unit.
    • The unit itself works great.
    • IF the latter were fabricated out of aluminum and longer than the provided thin plastic part, then the assembled unit would be less likely to fall over
    • Overall a good little unit.
    • I would recommend this unit and it worked great
    • I would recommend this unit and it worked great
    • This superb unit is easy to leave permanently connected, or unplug and carry, and if left connected, easy to turn off and on, saving vital MTBF hard drive life for long years of data back up life
    • For SATA, I would recommend the Rosewill unit, the layout is a little easier to work with.
    • After a couple months of consistent usage, my unit just stopped working entirely
    • After swapping out hard drives a few times, I've discovered what might be the reason people are reporting this unit stopped working
    • Sure, it could have just been a defective unit, but I don't want to take the chance.
    • Great unit...
    • This is a solid unit.
    • After fixing a loose screw which was causing a bad grounding situation, two potentially-bad solder joints, one definitely-bad solder joint, and a badly-crimped IDE power cable the unit got far enough for me to at least start testing it
    • I've worked with better quality 3.5 enclosures within the price point - may want to look around for a different brand or gamble and hope you get a good unit.
    • Another big drawback is that the little bracket that supports the unit is a very flimsy piece of plastic that doesn't even fit snugly.
    • The unit worked perfectly
    • This unit is worthless to me as it came with no 4 pin molex power cable to use on my PATA 133 IDE drive
    • The unit is ridgid with built in cooling fan so as not to overheat the drive.
    • The whole unit has a bad chemical smell, which is normal with new electronics, but this one was particularly offensive
    • Nice compact unit
    • The unit works, but it's a little hard to work with
    • Best of all I have had no i/o issues with the drive.
