• Reviews around work (4.34 of 5)

Sabrent USB 2.0/ESATA TO 3.5 Inch IDE or SATA/SATA II Aluminum Hard Drive Enclosure Case with Cooling Fan (EC-UEIS7)

    • fairly sturdy works in a half-assed way as a USB enclosure
    • Item not reliable, I bought 2 and 1 is defective and the other only works some time
    • Opened box took off screws put hdd sata in closed pluged in worked great
    • I don't want to give this a horrible rating because it's built well and most likely works fine with older versions of Windows
    • I won't focus on how well this unit functions or it's physical makeup, etc. as there are so many reviews already, but I will say quickly that it does have a solid build and works perfect via USB 2, and quick enough for my needs
    • The sturdy metal frame looks impressive and the stand works well, after I put some double sided tape on it to keep it in place
    • Unlike Sabrent, Vantec did good work designing it for ease of disassembly and reassembly with a minimum of fasteners
    • Nice Case, worked well, was easy to use.
    • the item seems to be working well at this time
    • Love it, it was very easy to setup, and all my old hard drives are working very well.
    • The case is works great for my IDE drive
    • So far, the case is working great with my IDE hard drive
    • I did not want to return but got the fan fixed and so far works the unit works.
    • For now, the USB connection is working just fine.
    • Power cord is a bit short for where I was working, people kept tripping over it (and it can take a beating pretty well i might add) but most people aren't working from a laptop on a dinning room table where the nearest outlet is 2 feet away
    • The Casing is working perfect with a 2TB storage inside.eSata gives me amazing Speed
    • This hard disk enclousure is perfect, sata and ide adapters are included in the box, in a original unopened box, the cooler works perfectly and it is silent
    • The first one worked fine as far as read/write speeds over USB (I did not test eSATA
    • TO 3.5 inch works very good and is built very good as well.
    • Both are working great.
    • For the new, version 2, can do the same too: powered by 12V directly from PC (applicable only on desktop PC).Additional info on SATA speed problem:Not all SATA hard drives work correctly in eSATA on highest speed (due to interference and long cable). You maybe required to correctly set the jumper on hard drive for proper speed
    • The enclosure is very compact and is working as advertised.
    • Those who have ultra-clean work areas probably wouldn't have to concern themselves about that.
    • This thing is perfect works as advertised.
    • My nifty rubber band modification works good
    • I did decide then to just use the SATA drive and it is working no problem
    • Item works great, didn't need 2 desktops anymore
