Samson Go Mic Portable USB Condenser Microphone

    • It has a switch on the side that does three settings: 1) a setting that cancels background noise, which basically just decreases mic sensitivity (I've had some applications work well with this, and others where I have to speak directly into it for anyone to hear me), 2) a setting that picks up only sound in front of the mic (this is what I normally use as the standard), and 3) a setting that picks up sound from all
    • The bottom-most setting is the hottest, the middle is for when you're very close (and does a great job getting rid of background noise), the top-most is a blend between the two
    • It does, however, pick up a ton of background noise
    • Both of these mics provided decent sound quality, but neither did well for my particular usage as far as background noise rejection which I will discuss more later.
    • It does pick up background noises like fans but not a major issue for me
    • It's certainly not bad, but it does tend to pick up a great deal of background noise.
    • It's even cleaner if you record at 10 inches and set the level to 25% because it won't pick up as much background noise
    • Warning they are very sensitive and need to be used in a relatively quiet area to avoid picking up background noises.
    • Additionally I'd like it if it picked up less background noise, and more of my voice.
    • I am very pleased with the deep, "stereo" sound from the Cardioid mode, yet the mic doesn't pick up background noises unless you change the settings on it
    • Sounds amazing, with the three switch positions offered on the device, I can change how much background noise is picked up or cancelled
    • So if you are in a noisy area or have background noise often you may want to consider push to talk or accommodating the mic
    • I was not expecting it to do so well on cardioid setting with me at that far a distance from it, but unfortunately that level of sensitivity came at the price of significant background noise.
    • With the levels properly adjusted, my voice sounded great on this setting with minimal background noise, but this was not my intended use for this product.
    • Although it does pick up a lot of background noise, but I use it 100% for
    • This little thing has no background noise that I can hear, and on top of that, can record an entire room, in fact it can record the room too well
    • I am not an audio expert, all I wanted was a mic that didn't have white background noise and this one did the trick.
    • Pics up very clear voice and doesn't pic up any background noise.
    • Also, comparing to other mics (like my Razer Blade built-in mic) works great not having background noise signal (natural background and silent) and capturing the sound of your voice and surroundings
    • Also, comparing to other mics (like my Razer Blade built-in mic) works great not having background noise signal (natural background and silent) and capturing the sound of your voice and surroundings
    • (well, other than some soft background noise, but what can you do about that
    • For the issue with 'white noise' or background noise I suggest downloading AUDACITY.
    • To be fair, all I've owned is a few $10 condenser microphones, and they plug into the mic in port, so there is always some background noise
    • The tiny microphone seemed to pick up more background noise and was much more sensitive (I had to turn off my ceiling fan)
    • We were somewhat surprised at how well this picked up voices without a lot of background noise.
    • The cardioid pattern selection switch works and is great if you position the microscopic between you and a noisy laptop/desktop to help filter out the background noise
    • Three-way switch helps isolate sound to a single speaker or include more background noise, per the user's specification.
    • The c920's stereo mics gave a thinner, not as warn sound as the Go Mic, but reduced background noise to less than half the level present with the Go Mic.
    • It captures sounds well and it creates the least background noise issue.
    • At best, I was able to get decent sound when the Go Mic was partially isolated in a makeshift "enclosure/isolator/dampener" that was clearly superior in quality to my c920 as it sat on the top of my screen, but there was still an unacceptable level of background noise, noticeably greater than that of my webcam mic.
    • The regular cardioid setting is highly susceptible to background noise and in my opinion not usable unless you are in a very quiet environment.
    • It does a good job of filtering out the background noises.
    • if you getting background noise, white noise with your old microphone then try this one
    • but if you have a lot of background noise and you don't want it picked up... this will be an issue for you.
    • settings allow for different recording options to cut out background noise
    • I can use Skype and no feedback or background noise
    • It picks up background noise like a fuzzy black sweater picks up cat hair in a crazy cat-lady's house
    • Eitehr way this little baby is really cool if it wasn't for the background noise
    • No noticeable feedback or background noise either
    • Sound is very clear, though it tends to pick up any background noise (expected with condenser microphones)
    • It's a condenser mic, but it offers an optional "cardioid" pickup pattern that's well-suited to VoIP and webinar usage, as it eliminates background noise
    • Its audio monitoring was very clear for a mic this size and actually eliminated some (but defiantly not all) background noise
    • It allows me to pick up on background noise that I may not have heard otherwise
    • The microphone doesn't seem to pick up the background noise at all (eg
    • The Go Mic does, however, provide excellent sound(better than the c920 and akin to the Meteor and popular Blue mics) with acceptable background noise rejection when on the -10dB cardioid setting and positioned within 6-10 inches from the user
    • The microphone doesn't pick up any background noise
    • The cardioid modes will help with noisy background noise.
    • Lots of background noise.
    • but you'd probably have to mess with the recording levels themselves to completely eliminate background noise.
    • The mic is very sensitive, so it has a setting, marked "10", for a 10 decibel drop, which reduces background noise and is good if you are going to produce sound at a higher volume
    • Very clear and crisp A++
    • Works as I expected
    • My uses for this mic include voip applications like skype, mumble, ventrillo, and others, as well as for blog posts and even amateur voice recording
    • i even released my first song with this :) so happy to buy this :D
