I set it up anyway and honestly, it's to wobbly for my taste, sure you can toss a gear bag or sand bag on it, then you are defeating the purpose of a light weight compact mic stand if you are trin to get away hauling around Atlas style weighted Mic stands

I tried shortening the boom arm (thus bringing the mic closer to the stand's center and increasing the weight to the counter-side of the stand from the end of the boom), however the stand would still fall over unless the mic were directly above the base (thus defeating the purpose of having a boom in the first place).Probably fine for lighter mics, but for anything with some weight, suggest looking elsewhere.
