Great storage device.

This device almost destroyed the only USB port of my Microsoft Surface Pro 3

Great little USB device

As with all my reviews, I will update this review should the device develope any issues with ongoing use.

Either I received a counter fit device or Samsungs performance marketing is dishonest.

I had the device stop working twice and windows injected it from what I believe to be overheating

As of now I am returning the product due to incompatibility, as the device can be force fit into smaller ports but, the proprietary contact likes to make it an impossible fit

Also, when I DD copied to a new faster device I got 10MB/s.

When your read/write speeds drop halfway through a test write operation, and your results make the device seem "faulty" or "a joke", it is caused by the device YOU HAVE THE DRIVE PLUGGED INTO and not explicitly the storage drive itself

I have a similar device by SanDisk and that works perfectly fine every time I plug it into my car.

I am uneasy how hot this device gets and the advertised read/write speeds are EXTREMELY optimistic

[Update]February 7, 2017.A lot of people complain about the device getting hot, in my experience it has not get to inadmissible temps; it does get hot while copying a lot of data (More than 15GB) to it through USB 3.0, it can also get hot when connected for very long periods with low/regular activity (4-5Hrs).Anyway, I keep the 5 star rating because the "high temps" experienced are not that high for a device this tiny, fast and with this relatively high capacity (64GB in my case), besides, it's a very good and stylish device that has more advantages (including its low price) than disadvantages.[Initial review]December 30, 2016.Looks and feels good, will update soon.

It did take quite a bit of time to load the data (maybe 2 hours) but I don't fault the device for that

It's a great little storage device.

I larger drive sticking out would be easier for someone to notice and maybe take, It would also be more susceptible to getting wacked and broken as I am often moving things from the passenger side (like my notebook case, briefcase, etc.) across the center console (where the USB plug is located) when I'm out visiting clients

I was using a SanDisk version for years before this, but this one I way easier to remove from computers.
