Yes - I had about 100 gb of data on a one terabyte drive and cloned it to a smaller 500 gb Samsung SSD - Macrium Reflect software (free) worked just fine

The SSD worked great at first - I cloned my hard drive onto the computer right out of the box and was very impressed with the speed.

While the Laptop worked it was almost virtually unusable due to the tortoise 300GB WD Mechanical Drive that had originally come with it
