but I didn't want to have to reinstall the tons of existing programs and drivers); however if you need to clone to a hard disk drive (I later decided to upgrade the secondary hard drive as well) I would recommend getting a different, powered cable to transfer data because the SATA connection won't be enough to power a 3.5" HDD.So far so good, I also got this particular drive because of the relatively long 5-year limited warranty

Using a computer with SSD's in it isn't something I'm willing to ever downgrade from because using a computer with slow spinning hard disks makes me thing something is seriously wrong with those slow operating computers.

What DID work was using Windows 7's native Backup & Restore feature to create a full system image of the old SSD on one of my mechanical hard disks, and then using a bootable Windows system repair DVD to "restore" that image to the new SSD
