But, unlike a plasma, this TV is thin, gorgeous, light, super smart, has a cool remote, and most importantly has no buzzing sound.

After owning this product for a year now, my biggest complaint is with the smart remote.

The extra Smart Remote is small and very convenient.

This 8550 was a completely different experience and its Standard Remote was truly excellent with a great feel and ability to also control whatever brand of DVD, BD or STB you have as well

But for everyday use I prefer the rectangular remote because the air-mouse is too sensitive.

The most amazing feature on this small device is its on-screen cursor/arrow control which is enabled when your finger touches that keypad, but instead of using it like a 'Touchpad', you just move the Smart Remote in any direction to watch the on-screen cursor move and highlight on-screen items when you are in an application that needs such control, you can also select a speed for this mouse

This is a relief given the total failure of the past gimicky touch-pad remote which is virtually unuseable.3

The second is a small yet super efficient/precise remote that allows you to point and move

I also liked that Samsung included two types of smart remotes and four pairs of 3-D glasses

The smart remote is not fully integrated with some apps like Netflix, using the arrow keys to move around the menu is not so smart.

My daughter figured out the smart remote in no time and doesn't want to use anything else

Also love the remote however ... you can not program it so the volume controls your amp instead of the volume of the TV

It does come with a regular remote as well which works great also if you can't get used to the magic remote.
