    Samsung UN65HU8550 65-Inch 4K Ultra HD 120Hz 3D Smart LED TV (2014 Model)

    • It looks great during bright scenes but during dark scenes and credits I noticed distracting amounts of LCD backlight bleed through and LCD halo effect with or without the micro dimming enabled.-Motion judder was minimal and not that noticeable
    • Now the upper righthand corner has an obvious problem dimming when darker scenes are played
    • On super bright scenes, light levels within 1/2" of the border are a little lower than the rest of the panel, this is easily observable in the store and one of those things you just have to acknowledge with these super-thin TVs
    • 4k netflix is very cool, the picture quality is a big improvement over my old TV and the blacks and detail in dark scenes is very niceAlso the smart TV apps work well and are very nice
    • The only gripe I have is that on certain movies (maybe I need faster internet speed for online movies) and even Blu-Ray; in some slow scenes, the black looks smeared or "bleeding" effect
    • The bane of my TV viewing is the fact that so many scenes are very dark, and it can be difficult to see enough detail to recognize faces
    • It's not terrible on this set, but it is noticeable on the corners on dark scenes.
    • Screen uniformity was terrific (LED sets normally have lighter areas on screen when viewing a dark scene, such as a space star field), I could not detect any luminous unevenness on my particular set.
    • Color is great, black is black and you can see detail in dark scenes
    • Black levels are pretty good, exceeding my expectations in all but the darkest scenes in a pitch black room.
    • The main cons:The vertical banding lines that are noticeable very good when watching dynamic light solid color scenes
    • Dark scenes on movies work better on the Plasma, but the HU8550 do a nice job with them also
    • Overall the picture is decent but during dark scenes there is a distinct glow around the edges from the edge lighting.
    • It looks great during bright scenes but during dark scenes and credits I noticed distracting amounts of LCD backlight bleed through and LCD halo effect with or without the micro dimming enabled.-Motion judder was minimal and not that noticeable
    • Film grain in dark scenes can sometimes look like its pulsing or strobing with noticeable lighter areas on the left and right edges where the LED's are.
    • A little blooming can be detected on dark scenes, but this primarily shows up when the "No Signal" message is bouncing around the screen or titles/credits, not cinema content
    • and it you lose details in dark scenes.
