The TV found an available update immediately after placing it on the internet.

Unfortunately its not helpful to have a smart tv which gets outsmarted by poor updates

Sony said a update will come out to support 4K video play back but no release date has been given

So I must suspect the "update" the reason for the soundstuttering

Every update so far has broken important functionality.- Built-in Netflix app does not properly output 5.1 audio

The set now does 4:4:4 if you name a given HDMI input as "PC".- Poor software updates

Overall, they replaced a $1200 flat panel; haven't had an issue with it (aside from not being able to reprogram the menu myself--NETFLIX dumped and they had to take control of my TV via remote servicing and accomplish updates that way).

The 3-D feature works fine with 3-D DVDs and can't wait to try with streaming video
