Did interior photography with this lens over the weekend and the images are super sharp.
-
Soft images with F2.8
-
Focusing with this lens is exactly like trying to focus it when the camera body is off; there is zero assistance to guide you to getting a sharp image.
-
Just compare with your smart phone images.
-
With a little editing, you see a lot more stars - but the raw images are pretty great too
-
Amazing image quality for an amazing price
-
Sharp images with F9 or higherCONS:
-
Awesome optics, images are clean, very sharp when stopped down around 5.6 or 8 (even quite sharp wide open), great smooth focus, solid feel, beautiful form factor
-
Although the image was good, I just felt that it wasn't smooth and stable enough
-
For around $300 the Samyang 14mm offers some amazing image quality for the price
-
This lens is cheap because it's manual focus, manual aperture, lacks image stabilization, has strong distortion, and getting a good copy is a gamble.
-
Will warp images so either that is acceptable or need software to help correct the edges.
-
Regardless of the far left softness, the images are still quite usable
-
The image is always smooth, stable and in focus
-
Poke around the interwebs and you will see that many of the most incredible images of the night sky were taken with this very lens
-
If you like putting motion in your videos and you're looking for a lens that can make your images look smooth, buy this baby and you won't regret it
-
And, frankly, the fact that someone stuck a little sticker on it to say that it has been "inspected" doesn't mean much if they didn't actually put it on a full frame E mount camera and look at what the image looks like
