I have found my photos to be sharp edge to edge and color to be as good as my Nikkor lens and very much recommend this lens for those looking for a low price wide angle
Will warp images so either that is acceptable or need software to help correct the edges.
The far left edge is noticeably softer than the far right edge (or perhaps the far right of this lens is just incredibly sharp)
I've seen some people complain about some Samyang and Rokinon 14mm lenses being soft on the edges (and my friend has the 14mm Rokinon that does have soft edges), but I have no issues with mine
My copy was consistently very soft on the left edge (about the left 15-20% of the image) at all apertures, but was sharp on across to the right edge
Awesome optics, images are clean, very sharp when stopped down around 5.6 or 8 (even quite sharp wide open), great smooth focus, solid feel, beautiful form factor
The optics are fabulous and I have taken some fabulous night sky photos.
Otherwise, it has a quality feel to it and great optics.

I bought this because I wanted an ultra-wide lens, and the price was right
Awesome lens, better price, and the pictures are amazing
I decided the price was good enough that I was going to try for myself
Anyway, quite a shame because Samyang makes some excellent glass -- typically merits a FIVE STAR rating, since it is about as good as the most expensive glass around, but at a much better price -- and I'm sure my replacement copy will be good.
I would give this lens three stars for the quality control and distortion, but that price is hard to argue with
Focusing with this lens is exactly like trying to focus it when the camera body is off; there is zero assistance to guide you to getting a sharp image.
If you like putting motion in your videos and you're looking for a lens that can make your images look smooth, buy this baby and you won't regret it
Did interior photography with this lens over the weekend and the images are super sharp.
This lens is cheap because it's manual focus, manual aperture, lacks image stabilization, has strong distortion, and getting a good copy is a gamble.
Poke around the interwebs and you will see that many of the most incredible images of the night sky were taken with this very lens
It's sharp and produces excellent photos if you get a good copy
Initial impression are very good, difficult to get a correct focus, but for the price is a bargain, good photo quality.
I have to say that Samyang from my experience definitely offers fantastic photo quality at an affordable price if you're willing to learn how to use a manual lens and I truly am glad that I gave this product a shot
Optically mine is flawless and the photos I have captured using us lens have truly razor sharp
Scenic photos are also a challenge if you disregard the subject
Good build quality (focus ring is tight and not flimsy)
It's not the most practical lens - very much dedicated to landscapes, wide field astro and even real estate, but being manual focus and without the ability to add screw on filters, I can't automatically recommend it to everyone
Manual focus and aperture is not an issue with this focal length.
Accurate focus can be an issue if you are locked into using the focus scale on the lens

The build quality seems pretty sturdy, the outside is metal with rubber grip on the focus ring, which is smooth with good tension and the mount is solid
This lens gets praise on the web, so I guess there must be a few good ones that get sold, but to have to be sending lenses back and forth trying to find a good one is unacceptable in 2016.the crops i attached show the dismal quality even at the center at f2.8, and the left said even stopped down.
But I ran into unexpected quality issues that were unacceptable
Initial impression are very good, difficult to get a correct focus, but for the price is a bargain, good photo quality.
The build quality is better than I expected, feels solid and the focus ring is smooth, so I give the build quality high marks
For me, infinity was easy to find, and lack of auto-focus was a non-issue
And the only complaint is about pillow shaped distortion, that for some people is annoying and others a non issue.)I suppose for someone shooting an APS-C camera, like many Sony NEX, the lens hood thing might now be a big issue (at least not as obviously visible, thought still not in the right place or doing the right thing), but on a full frome camera, the hood actually obscures some of the image on the copy I got.
Manual focus is really a non issue on a lens this wide, using the simple hyperfocal settings.
