It has a great build quality though the focus ring when used manually has a sound to it as if it is lightly rubbing on something, otherwise it is smooth and seemingly easy to use
Super sharp macro lens, good build and excellent image quality
I really like the Macro feature on this lens ,it has a good build quality
I had been on the fence about getting this lens but its focus is fast, sharp as hell and has a very solid build
I used to like this lens, after all-its image quality is excellent, and its built like an absolute tank
In just a few shots I can see that this lens is an excellent value as a macro lens.
My goal with camera gear is to maximize value, and this lens is a great value.
Best value for macro for Nikon after the Nikkor 60mm macro.
If you're looking for a good value on a macro lens with AF, this is the one to buy
If money is no matter or you really love photographing tiny objects and are thinking to buy a macro lens -- go for it -- its difficult to find a better alternative with better quality and value without spending much moreP.S - I've attached a lime flower on my potted lime plant
It's a solid, reliable product from a company with a long track record of producing high-quality lenses, and in value-for-money terms it's the best deal in its class
After shooting many images as a telephoto lens, I was a little frustrated with inconsistent sharpness
I love the sharpness of the lens and its a sturdy bodied little stinker
This macro lens has 9 aperture blades, excellent bokeh, and crisp macro sharpness
I also have a Nikon 18-200mm which I often use, but when the situation is appropriate, I prefer this one for its amazing sharpness and excellent bokeh.
Excellent colors and sharpness, the bokeh is very nice too
So, having a good experience with the 35mm, I bought this lens and am really enjoying the good quality pictures
I am glad that Nikon puts these error codes in their cameras to protect amature photographers like myself from lenses that slipped through the stringent quality control that Tokina has.
Super sharp macro lens, good build and excellent image quality
The quality of images I have shot in just two days easily rival the top end Nikon lenses I own:
should have cleared that earlier...what i meant is that i wished the lens had AF motor built into it so the AF feature can be used with more bodies, also i wished it had a sort of vibration reduction for image stabilization ...all this in comparison to the Nikon 105mm Macro lens which have the previous features...that is why i gave it a 4 stars....but if u wanna compare it to the same Nikon lens or other lenses that lacks those features then i'll give it 5 stars as its really great lens in terms of image and build quality.
This is build very well just like all of Tokina's other lenses.
This lens is one of my favorite prime lenses for my Nikons
I have well over 15 lenses and this one is by far the best lens i have ever owned
And if you read some of the technical reviews, you see several of the Tokinas blow away the name brand lenses anyway.buy it
As good as, if not better than, the Nikon equivalent... and less than half the price.
It is very easy to focus and lack of vibration reduction is not an issue
The lack of VR makes it a little trickier to use as a plain walk-around lens, though.
The only downsides are the lack of VR (but most good macro shots I make are with tripods), the focusing is slightly louder and slightly slower than the internal motors for AF-S, and it won't autofocus with the Nikon D40, D40X, D3100 and D5000.Important settings the instructions did not mention: Some new users had issues with error message "EE
lack of sharpness; lack of consistency; very slow auto focus; very loud.
