Reviews around focus (5.00 of 5)

  • Manual focus, takes some work to use it correctly but yields some very stellar pictures.
  • Correct focus is still indicated by the usual red square and beep in the viewfinder, It just won't do it for you
  • Super sharp, precision focusing, perspective correction and less vignetting than I would have expected at 2/3 to 3/4 tilt.
  • Fantastic for close-ups believe it or not!Fantastic for selective focus
  • Since this lens is 100% manual control, if the Live view does not show the correct focus, adjust the F stop until the focus is right

Reviews around thing (5.00 of 5)

  • Focusing on 5d2 via live mode and 10x zoom is a joy, just can't say enough good things
  • Crazy sharp (as has been said many times here) and compared to the 17mm this thing is easy to focus
  • If you get why those are great things, you need this lens.
  • F stop - depth of field: this is the most important thing
  • really cool thing about this lens is that you can create quite some personalized photos

Reviews around sharpness (5.00 of 5)

  • Chromatic aberration is almost inexistent, and sharpness is outstanding
  • Like all other previous review noted, this lens does deliver excellent sharpness through out entire photo.2
  • The sharpness, the colors and the effects (miniature effect and perspective correction) were simply amazing

Reviews around mm (5.00 of 5)

  • It's not cheap, but it's worth it if you need a super-sharp 24mm lens and like to shift for panoramas
  • In my opinion it is the best 24 mm lens which Canon has available in regard to sharpness and for the tilt/shift performance image-quality wise.

Reviews around canon (5.00 of 5)

  • The optics are as good as any review you have read - it may be the best lens Canon ever produced.
  • I have used the best canon, Nikon, and zeiss wide angles and this lens is hands down the best resolving, distortionless wide angle lens I have ever used.
  • This is the sharpest lens canon makes, at any focal length, so far.

Reviews around shot (5.00 of 5)

  • So far, it has taught me a lot by forcing me to go back to apply basic photographic skills in order to get good shots
  • Got so many cool shots with it
  • Otherwise a great lens for easy panoramas and large-pixel frames, for fixing skew in architecture shots, for fully focused landscape shots with in-focus foreground, for changing depth of field orientation in artistic shots, and of course the miniature shots (if that's your thing).

Reviews around produce (5.00 of 5)

  • The optics are as good as any review you have read - it may be the best lens Canon ever produced.
  • It helped to spend some time refreshing my memory about how to use tilts and shifts but aside from that, there was nothing mysterious about this lens other than the magical quality it possesses for producing sharp, colorful images that can be free of converging lines or offer incredible field of focus control

Reviews around image (4.03 of 5)

  • It helped to spend some time refreshing my memory about how to use tilts and shifts but aside from that, there was nothing mysterious about this lens other than the magical quality it possesses for producing sharp, colorful images that can be free of converging lines or offer incredible field of focus control
  • It's indispensable because the shift ability retains image quality fidelity where you would normally have to distort the image in editing software, and for high paying clients on enlargement sized prints, that is unacceptable
  • Functions superbly, lay-people who have seen images of buildings sans converging verticals, can't quite figure out why there's a difference but they all appreciate the images
  • After years of missing large format cameras with their swings and tilts, and of course their wonderful large film size that together produce incredible images, I think I have found something that will lessen my longing
  • The lens overall is very sharp and provides an excellent image quality

  • Usual L quality - beefy, precise, and consistent behavior for all controls! Not a bargain
