Unfortunately I'm on a Mac and apparently SanDisk thinks Mac users don't matter, because their fancy SSD utility that updates the firmware only runs on windows.

It's a different issue than previously, but I'm getting fed up with having to reinstall the OS and restore my files from backup due to faulty SSD hardware

However, by the 4th day of usage, the SSD failed right before 27 Nov, US thanksgiving weekend, during a final paper

I upgraded the 1TB Samsung EVO in my desktop PC with this drive and to be honest didn't notice much of a difference - then again I expected as much - since performance of the top SSD drives nowadays is within a few percent of each other

I have a Samsung 850 Pro SSD in another PC - and it is reputed to be the fastest consumer SSD you can buy, but have to admit, the SanDisk drive is just as fast as the Samsung, and much cheaper!

Upgraded my HP Elite 8300, used the free MiniTool Partition Wizard available here on Amazon, first connected the SSD on the system so the W7 OS would recognize the drive and install the driver it needed, then just used the MiniTool Partition Wizard to copy the contents of my regular Boot drive to the SSD, then unplugged the old physical drive and booted to the SSD, no problems
