Sangean RCR-22 AM/FM Tuning Clock Radio (White)

    • You always had to adjust the signal at least on a weekly basis, if not daily for the weaker stations
    • Then I picked her favorite station and there was quite a bit of static - equivalent or possibly even worse than her GE 1980's vintage clock radio.
    • It picks up stations well over 100 miles away.
    • great reception of weak stations
    • The radio pulls in distant stations well.
    • HD radio is catching on and there are a lot of good stations that this can't receive.2
    • On the positive side, the radio's ability to pick up weaker stations seems above-average (I live in a rural area).
    • Took about two minutes to get everything going including time/date and favorite stations
    • However, I liked that I have presets on the RCR-22 so that I can easily switch between my favorite stations, which I can't do with my other bedroom radio, but I can't use it unless I'm willing to listen to the tinny sound
    • I live in an area 30 miles outside of Boston and on all attempts at clock radios I have never received the Boston stations well.
    • Still cannot receive the favorite AM station from 90 miles away.
    • Once selected, the AM station of choice maintains a clear and drift-free contact, very much like that on the CC Radio
    • Turning the radio left or right on the counter top controlled, but did not completely eliminate the problem for stations from around 610AM and below, as well as between stations when manually tuning the radio
    • , that has trouble tuning my favorite low-wattage classical music station (that is, has trouble tuning OUT nearby stations).
    • Don't use the wake up feature so cannot say much about that but favorite stations easy to program.
    • This is a great radio -- local AM stations sound like FM
    • I immediately noticed that previously unusable radio stations came in very clear.
    • But as a AM radio, it only gets the real strong stations, which around here, are few.
    • , that has trouble tuning my favorite low-wattage classical music station (that is, has trouble tuning OUT nearby stations).
    • The reception is great and it's easy to set up favorite stations and switch between them.
    • No need to continuously tune and re-tune the radio into your favorite stations as the digital tuner keeps the radio from drifting off frequency.
    • Turning the radio left or right on the counter top controlled, but did not completely eliminate the problem for stations from around 610AM and below, as well as between stations when manually tuning the radio
    • The antenna also pulls in less powerful public radio and classical stations with no drift or static, which is a big upgrade from my previous radio
    • I am able to listen to typically weak radio stations with ease now.
    • The radio reception is excellent and works well even with the weaker stations in our area
    • FM station is much better than most others in the price range.
    • My daughter loves the product as she can listen to her favorite FM stations as she goes to bed
    • The person I gave it to said it pulls in more distant stations well
    • It is relatively easy to set up and the radio and radio reception is great (my previous clock-radio struggled to pick up my favorite station
    • Great reception on all of his favorites stations even though we live 50 miles or more from towers, in a hilly area with huge tree canopies and buildings.
    • High power stations come thru clearly but cross talk and interference on weaker stations
    • This is a fine little radio with all the features I need such as accurate time, ease of use, good sound, preset stations and an antenna that lets me clearly bring in stations I previously had trouble with.
    • Couldn't even get a usable signal for the AM clear channel station that you can get out in the woods in northern MN.
    • I love NPR and other talk stations as well as clasical and rock stations.
    • Also, the tuner rejects interference from nearby strong stations and doesn't drift.
    • Frequency drift doesn't happen, but there can be some fading on the weaker stations late at night
    • If this happens to you on the RCR-2, know that it's because the station is not clear enough for the clock radio's standards--so the alarm will go off to be sure you wake up!
    • My old Timex barely got some of the weaker local stations
    • The sound quality on strong local stations is average
    • I can not use my favorite AM station for the alarm
    • I love the station presets
    • It really surprised me because it had no problems with FM radio reception -- even a weak station that my old (and still in service) clock radio chokes on.
    • The radio picks up the local NPR station much better than the Tivoli, which tended to drift to another stronger station
    • Controls not as intuitive as I would like.
    • The radio works as it should and we have figured out most of the features
    • If you hit the snooze button, the light fades back down, then gradually brightens as it comes on again
    • I'd rate this the biggest drawback to this radio -- especially for those relying on it to get out of bed in the morning ;o{
