Sangean WFR-28 Internet Radio / FM-RBDS / USB / Network Music Player Digital Receiver with Color Display

    • If you want to add and organize your own favorite radio stations you must register the radio with the Frontier Silicon service
    • The radio menu provides built in options right out of the box to view all the stations by country, genre, local stations, podcasts, most popular station, recently added new stations
    • GREAT to have for travel if your local station is on the web, or if you work in a place with limited reception of FM signals.
    • It also may not support some stations that stream only via their own custom audio players
    • You can set up favorite stations on the Frontier Silicon web site and these will be available under a "my favorites" menu
    • Our favorite stations are weak and interference from LED lights made a WiFi radio a solution
    • Preset station is limited to 5 numbers and would be good to have more
    • The good news is that there are 12-16k stations available to listen to, depending on who says there are
    • This little thing solved all those problems and I've got 2 presets left for new favorite stations.
    • The website allows you create groups of your favorite stations and podcasts
    • once you have one of these you will wonder how you ever did without it... incredible worldwide choices with no more weak stations
    • more stations are available on other internet radios
    • Otherwise I am thoroughly enjoying radio stations from Europe and elsewhere in perfect quality sound :)
    • It is easy to set up and use, and the stations available using the Frontier internet service are easy to obtain and program into the radio
    • but I prefer the far superior Grace Digital Wi-Fi Music Player with 3.5-Inch Color Display (GDI-IRC6000) (Black)and Logitech as they have all the top national and local stations as well as new content from companies like Pandora, SiriusXM internet radio, color displays, and support long lasting lithium ion battery packs
    • They are somewhat weak stations
    • You can not listen to Pandora or Jango or any of those popular stations though
    • Rechargeable Portable WiFi Internet RadioOur radio station began streaming after much research into “best methods” and “least proprietary” so we could reach the most people
    • Bottom line is the reliable, great sound quality above all else has me sold on keeping this radio since I usually leave it on my favorite station
    • There's also a nice station search function by name/keyword.
    • It’s great having access to almost unlimited online stations plus FM RDS
    • Perfect for bedside, kitchen, wherever you may have previously enjoyed stations on a PC but don't want to be tied to the laptop or PC for listening
    • Battery life (rechargeable) up to 10 hours - awesome!13,000+ internet radio stations available and you can organize by creating folders in your favorites list
    • I tried setting it to my favorite stations i set it as directed in the manuel non of t he stations play they constantly cut out and do not say it is my internet because i will be glad to call you a lying piece of
    • Sure enough buttons for quick access to favorite stations - 5 pieces (Internet / FM).However, the receiver's menu, you can add lists of favorite stations, dividing them into different folders
    • For example it doesn't have CBS radio or Clear Channel / iheartradio station
    • My favorite station (public radio) split into 2 stations, one of which is now HD.
    • Also connecting to Frontier Silicon Radio Portal and adding favorite stations is fantastic.
    • Some stations have buffering problems a lot, some just once in awhile and the radio does try to re-connect.
    • I have already linked a favorite streaming station on Frontier Silicon WiFi that wasnt already on there and that worked great.
    • I started out really liking this radio with a lot of features and the 5 memory buttons make it easy to tune back to your favorite stations
    • I tried several stations, FM even, no good
    • She loves it so now she can listen to all her favorite stations.
    • I verified this with the nice staff at Grace, and it is true that while on the computer you cannot sample the stations, weird but true apparently
    • Very nice, works for anyone, including great-grandma, as long as it's tuned for 5 favorite stations
    • I set up the WiFi and five Favorite stations.
    • Question: Are the available stations 'hardwired', or do they periodically get updated?
    • You can even store favorites and manage your preferred radio stations from a website
    • Admittedly, I have not set it up the way it can really be used well with the lists of radio stations, but right out of the box I am able to get my three favorite internet radio stations.
    • It uses a streaming service that my favorite station does not participate in.
    • The web interface to add new favorite stations takes a little getting used to but works well.
    • Not all my favorite stations are listed, and I could not add any extra station.
    • You can also look up available Internet radio stations from around the world in it's built-in directory
    • Our favorite stations are weak and interference from LED lights made a WiFi radio a solution
    • The user has to become accustomed to a "boot-up" period of 30-60 seconds when the radio is turned on and a connection time delay as stations are changed
    • While the RADIO PORTAL is not the best one out there it doe's allow you to add URL's for you favorite stations that the service don't provide
    • Took more time to receive stations not available on Frontier Silicon but it can still be done.
    • Your 5 most favorite internet stations can be programmed into the radio pre-set buttons by simply tuning in the station and doing a long press of the pre-set button
    • For the rest, using the menus to find a station is still easier than either the Pure or the Teac
    • I think this unit claims 12k free stations
    • I had some difficulty getting used to the strange way of navigating the menu system and entering text, but once it was set up my friend has been able to turn the radio on and pick one of the Favorite stations to listen to.
    • The bad news is that there are 12-16k stations available to listen to
    • It gives me enormous pleasure to wake up to Chicago's WFMT, the world's greatest classical music station, every morning
    • In the meantime, this radio has more than enough stations to keep me occupied
    • You can pick up strong local stations
    • While local FM stations sound great, the FM tuner is less sensitive than other Sangean radios and weaker FM stations may not be receivable
    • There are evidently more features which are available when I get around to reading the manual, but for now, the stations I like (notably the CBC) can be received problem-free, and the 5 preset buttons are very useful in quickly going to our most frequently listened-to stations
    • The stations I have been able to install are often interrupted for whatever reason
    • The problem is all the other choices look either less appealing or about the same when they cost s fortune
    • In closing, it is an item an engineer might like as it provides many challenges to solve
    • The Sangean clearly wins as to handling Podcasts
    • As soon as I unticked that option, the app connected with the radio from our smartphones as well as from the iPad Mini
    • The AGPTEK Digital Music Player met my objective to create a genre playlist, as well as to play music by artist or album.
