I ended up using one post that I cut in two, and the height is perfect

Also, the felt at the bottom allows me to move the stand around, without fear of scratching the hardwood floors and as a bonus the height is perfect for running the speaker wires underneath and through the back hole, without getting them pinched

The color matches my speaker and the entertainment center perfectly, and places the speaker at optimal listening height and easier than mounting a bookshelf.

A lot of that was because the speakers were at a good listening height, rather than being on top of bookshelves

These stands are the ideal height to sit beside my prime listening position, and they are stable, holding speakers that weigh 15 pounds or so without any issue

(twin 6.5" speakers)and the 30" height is perfect when sitting on the couch in my living room.
