Within an hour, I had uploaded 250 movies, hundreds of photos and documents from a hard disk to the "wireless plus
-
After getting the full user manual, I learned that the unit must be accessed by connecting to the wireless network broadcast from the hard disk.
-
Tried with many remote devices for streaming but the slowness makes the WiFi capability of the hard disk completely useless.
-
Nothing for a PC.I plugged the hard disk into the USB port on my PC thinking it would install some software as the Quick Start guide kept mentioning downloading apps.
-
I love this disk
-
My older and bigger Seagate 1 Tb (non-WiFi) "portable" disk is still working with no issues
-
I could see this device as a huge asset to business travelers or anyone who uses a portable hard disk on the go.
-
It can only be used as wired hard disk
-
I resorted to visiting the Seagate Tech Support page where they had a 6 minute video on using the hard disk.
-
its one of the most useless hard disk i ever bought
-
Pretty good hard disk, with wifi

Pretty good hard disk, with wifi
-
In order to access the files wirelessly, one must connect to a wireless network broadcast by the hard disk itself.
-
Do not click on the Mac Install.dmg file on the hard disk - from my experience, it makes my HDD "disappear" - my Mac can't find it.
-
and I used the Seagate software, the hard drive no longer showed up on my computer and when I restarted it I got a message on my screen saying, "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" (http://i.imgur.com/2uoIYL7.png)

-
After waiting for THREE MONTHS after mailing the drive to them, I just got a phone call informing me that the drive, which sat still on a desk for the entirety of its short life, somehow managed to scratch its own internal disk beyond the point of being able to recover any files
-
The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer...asks if I want to initialize, ignore or eject.
-
and I opened up the folders thinking I could find a full user manual on the hard disk.
-
Lots of storage with the 2TB hard disk
-
Inside the box was a hard disk, a USB cable set to connect to a PC, a AC adapter to charge the unit, a Quick Start Guide and a 24 page warranty guide written in 24 languages
-
Of course so do a lot of much cheaper disk drives.
-
So while you can view photos easily on the hard disk, it would not be ideal for backing up a SD card full of photos via the wireless interface
-
I just recently purchased a small 2 TB portable disk drive at Costco for $139
-
and I wish this drive had the same capacity as that portable disk drive.
-
Was awesome used it all through deployment added stuff as I
-
Since 1TB is a whole lot of data to lose I wouldn't even chance it
