Seagate Wireless Plus 2TB Portable Hard Drive with Built-in WiFi (STCV2000100)

    • Seagate has made this product so complicated to the point that it's not worth using
    • Keep up the good work Seagate and make sure you update your tech manual on this one.
    • My older and bigger Seagate 1 Tb (non-WiFi) "portable" disk is still working with no issues
    • This appears not so much a Seagate problem they could fix but an Apple problem that will not ever be fixed
    • I have tried to get my Seagate Wireless Plus working on my Windows 8 laptop for the past few weeks but will now resort to using it as an (expensive) USB drive
    • The interface takes a bit of getting used to and the video I watched on the Seagate Tech Support website did help tremendously at this point
    • You download and install the Seagate Media app free from the Android or Apple store (not yet on the Microsoft store) and when you open the app on your phone, tablet, or iPod touch, it allows you to access files stored on the drive
    • Seagate will receive none of my future business after the disappointment and headaches I have suffered with this product.
    • Thank you Seagate for making this product.
    • I purchased a seagate wireless hard drive for this purpose
    • Other suggestions involve more hours of running diagnostics when Seagate should be resolving the problem, not the customer, particularly for a new, $200 device
    • It does NOT use the same Type H plug that was used in the Seagate Goflex Satellite external hard drive.
    • Seagate should address the battery and heat issues.
    • The Seagate Media Application works fine for me on each device.
    • Probably the primary reason people buy wireless storage devices such as the Seagate is the lack of expandable storage in devices such as iPhones, iPads and some Android smartphones and tablets
    • Seagate has improved the app recently, but it's still annoying to have to always go through their app
    • I cannot ever recommend using Seagate.
    • I hope that Seagate will get it working shorlty.
    • I do appreciate Seagate's timely resolution and hassle-free arrangement for sending a replacement.
    • the concept is great(!), but I cant say the same of the ease on how to configure, I still cant use it with my MacBook Pro, its too complicated to pair, Seagate has to improve on this, if you have the time, patience and knowledge to research its
    • Seagate has knocked it out of the park
    • It got great reviews and appeared to have great functionality, however Seagate has been terrible at software updates, and since iOS updated the iTunes media functionality no longer works.
    • Seagate's website touts this device as a solution for someone who owns movies from iTunes, Amazon movies, or Google Play movies, but wants to store them all in one place to bring anywhere for convenient streaming awesomeness
    • While Seagate is not perfect their failure rate has been much lower than the competition.
    • :It seems very clear that Seagate is its own worst enemy regarding this device
    • I've never owned a portable Seagate HDD before, but compared to the WD My Passport Ultra 2TB, this is much larger
    • I have been using computers for many years, and it took me several calls to the Seagate customer support center to figure it out
    • Seagate would not honor the warranty because I could not say whether it was the 1 tb or 500 g device.
    • What I noticed about negative Seagate consumer posts vs Dell (WD) and my Mac's Builder is that every post on every site I visited including Amazon was the fact that Seagate contacted and posted Technical solutions to the issue addressed
    • To access the drive from your mobile device, you must first install the free Seagate Media app from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore for Android
    • I returned the SW+ but would buy it again if Seagate got their software working as it's a really useful device for use on a car or plane.
    • The Seagate Wireless Plus works right out of the box
    • 4) Go on vacation and use the drive as a skipping stone on Lake Champlain!!Carl Villarini(Reluctant Seagate Customer for 8 years)
    • If I fill it up I'll get another one, but I cannot recommend the Seagate.
    • I realize that the change came from Apple, but if after 6 months, Seagate should be working on their own solution.
    • Since Seagate was so prompt and courtesy
    • I have been a Seagate user for years and typically happy with their storage devices and customer service
    • I resorted to visiting the Seagate Tech Support page where they had a 6 minute video on using the hard disk.
    • Nice job, Seagate!
    • Seagate has been unreachable
    • I'm not sure why Seagate didn't just put the PDF file on the SWP itself like what every other manufacturer does
    • When you submit - an error message appears saying that the serial number is not recognized as a Seagate device.4
    • Seagate is kind enough to provide constant updates for the app and the battery life simply doesn't degrade
    • I am a loyal Seagate user with over 10 units in the past 15 or so years
    • and it's just simple like open the wireless network between the 2 devices and stream anything via Seagate application available on Apple store and the amazing thing that movies, music, documents and
    • Seagate has a good reputation with hard drives, but this one falls short.
    • Since I intend to acquire a tablet at some stage running full Windows 8, I know the Seagate will work perfectly with this as well
    • just like seagate says to, and that that also may help if your still having difficulty
    • My original Seagate Goflex finally died after a few years of family and business travel
    • I bought this drive for its good price and Seagate's reputation, as a NEW hard drive
    • I've been buying Seagate hard drives for years, but this product is a disappointment.
    • Seagate has improved the app recently, but it's still annoying to have to always go through their app
    • I don't appreciate seagate waisting my $200 on that hard drive and I don't appreciate the constant messing things up with IOS updates
    • This is my second Seagate Wireless hard drive and I love them.
    • Seagate was nice enough to provide links and clarification regarding my issues
    • Don't worry - even if your Wireless Plus is NTFS you just dowload free Seagate App and use this drive without any problem
    • Seagate should improve this app for iPhones and for iPad's.
    • Connected via wireless, it shows connected to the drive, but when I run their useless Seagate Media app, it continually says, database initializing and check back in a few minutes
    • I blame Seagate and Apple for my unhappiness.
    • .I have to wonder why Seagate thought it appropriate to require a special driver in order to access the drive from my MBP.
    • Whatever the case, Seagate seem to be losing interest in this no longer new product
    • Seagate fails in this ares and should over haul the seagate app
    • Problem solved with excellent assistance from Seagate E-mail Technical Support (Krista).
    • I would much rather have a seagate free agent and the money I would have saved than the seagate
    • Good job Seagate...works good now
    • Sadly, my Seagate seems to have died now about a year after my purchase.
    • I can hardly even watch an hour of a video while being wirelessly connected to the seagate hard drive without it shutting down
    • Sorry Seagate, that just isn't good enough.
    • Awesome, Seagate
    • This device works well enough with non-DRM protected files, but if you want to play your saved iTunes purchases over the Seagate Media app, that's going to be next to impossible due to a non-compatabilty issue with iOS 8 or newer this is listed on the Seagate support page.
    • The Seagate IS the solution to this problem, and it WORKS!!
    • Wait for Seagate to fix the issue first.
    • I contacted Seagate via their facebook page and was told directions to update firmware for external, that didn't work either.
    • My first seagate wireless hard drive failed after less than 2 years of minimal use when restoring my computer
    • Built in WiFi- WiFi pass-through so you can use the internet and the Seagate at the same time.- Fast when used as a USB external drive on a computer.- Decent Seagate app for the iPod
    • After the thin, obligatory apology for the poor experience with "customer service", the email went on to explain that, while their warranty might allow for the replacement of the unit, their smart legal team had figured out a clause to included in the "warranty" so that Seagate would profit if their product failed.
    • Seagate is AWESOME
    • Additionally, the overall look of the wireless plus is betterI have also used the Corsair Voyager Air and I would recommend the Seagate over the Corsair.
    • Clearly Seagate must fix the application software to work with the iPads.
    • Hopefully this gets remedied in the future, but I can't knock the review down any stars because Seagate never claims to support Windows Phone 8.
    • Seagate connects and frees up my devices and allows me to be in music heaven.
    • Thank you Seagate.
    • In fact,I have just raised my satisfaction from 1 star to 4 solid stars : this is because at last one knowledgeable support person finally instructed me to format the whole drive and up to now, the connection failure has ceased and the Seagate Wireless Plus works like a charm
    • Sorry Seagate, that just isn't good enough.
    • Seagate recommends a recovery service but they would have to crack open the drive to do their jobs which would once again void the warranty.
    • Seagate could improve the app interface a little so that it's easier to figure out how to copy/move files to and from the drive
    • If its a file I've created, it opens in the free Seagate App I downloaded from The Apple Store
    • , the battery did not last, and it turns out that I have to pay seagate to recover my information
    • I wound up buying a Seagate Personal Cloud drive which is light years better for what I wanted
    • I hope that Seagate continues to improve their software, although what was delivered worked fine.
    • Means, obsolete - as you can't charge it anymore
    • it worked just as advertised and just as I had expected it to work
    • It works as it is claimed
    • The drive itself is relatively small and works as it should.
    • Followed the instructions at support site, tried SSID with and without pwd, tried installed app as well as through the browser and also did not work
    • This confused me because as soon as it disconnected
    • When 3G or 4G is good just relay the Seagate Wireless Disk through the hotspot on the phone and you have a seamless connection to the Internet.
