Seagate has made this product so complicated to the point that it's not worth using

Keep up the good work Seagate and make sure you update your tech manual on this one.

My older and bigger Seagate 1 Tb (non-WiFi) "portable" disk is still working with no issues

This appears not so much a Seagate problem they could fix but an Apple problem that will not ever be fixed

I have tried to get my Seagate Wireless Plus working on my Windows 8 laptop for the past few weeks but will now resort to using it as an (expensive) USB drive

The interface takes a bit of getting used to and the video I watched on the Seagate Tech Support website did help tremendously at this point

You download and install the Seagate Media app free from the Android or Apple store (not yet on the Microsoft store) and when you open the app on your phone, tablet, or iPod touch, it allows you to access files stored on the drive

Seagate will receive none of my future business after the disappointment and headaches I have suffered with this product.

Other suggestions involve more hours of running diagnostics when Seagate should be resolving the problem, not the customer, particularly for a new, $200 device

It does NOT use the same Type H plug that was used in the Seagate Goflex Satellite external hard drive.

Seagate should address the battery and heat issues.

The Seagate Media Application works fine for me on each device.

It got great reviews and appeared to have great functionality, however Seagate has been terrible at software updates, and since iOS updated the iTunes media functionality no longer works.

Seagate's website touts this device as a solution for someone who owns movies from iTunes, Amazon movies, or Google Play movies, but wants to store them all in one place to bring anywhere for convenient streaming awesomeness

While Seagate is not perfect their failure rate has been much lower than the competition.

Don't worry - even if your Wireless Plus is NTFS you just dowload free Seagate App and use this drive without any problem

Seagate should improve this app for iPhones and for iPad's.

Connected via wireless, it shows connected to the drive, but when I run their useless Seagate Media app, it continually says, database initializing and check back in a few minutes

Sadly, my Seagate seems to have died now about a year after my purchase.

I can hardly even watch an hour of a video while being wirelessly connected to the seagate hard drive without it shutting down

This device works well enough with non-DRM protected files, but if you want to play your saved iTunes purchases over the Seagate Media app, that's going to be next to impossible due to a non-compatabilty issue with iOS 8 or newer this is listed on the Seagate support page.

The Seagate IS the solution to this problem, and it WORKS!!

I contacted Seagate via their facebook page and was told directions to update firmware for external, that didn't work either.

After the thin, obligatory apology for the poor experience with "customer service", the email went on to explain that, while their warranty might allow for the replacement of the unit, their smart legal team had figured out a clause to included in the "warranty" so that Seagate would profit if their product failed.

Additionally, the overall look of the wireless plus is betterI have also used the Corsair Voyager Air and I would recommend the Seagate over the Corsair.

Clearly Seagate must fix the application software to work with the iPads.

Hopefully this gets remedied in the future, but I can't knock the review down any stars because Seagate never claims to support Windows Phone 8.

In fact,I have just raised my satisfaction from 1 star to 4 solid stars : this is because at last one knowledgeable support person finally instructed me to format the whole drive and up to now, the connection failure has ceased and the Seagate Wireless Plus works like a charm

Seagate recommends a recovery service but they would have to crack open the drive to do their jobs which would once again void the warranty.

Seagate could improve the app interface a little so that it's easier to figure out how to copy/move files to and from the drive
