• Reviews around wire (1.50 of 5)

Sennheiser HD 202 Dynamic Headphones (Old Version)

    • But the the wires (from both sides) will break from just normal daily use after about 8 months
    • I wouldn't recommend them for commute though, the wire is too long and this is just too big for that purpose.
    • wires broke on the inside and only played on one side, you get what you pay for
    • The past two pairs have easily stripped wires and the left ear loses sound
    • They have used very fine, cheap wire enclosed in thin, cheap fabric with no reinforcement, at the points that most need to be strong
    • grasp the plug instead, and you won't have problems with poor wire connections
    • Nice long wire, comfortable pads.
    • I'll amend this review if anything should go wrong with the headphones.------UPDATE (7/4/11)------After a year and a half of easy use the left muff's wires have apparently been damaged
    • They have used very fine, cheap wire enclosed in thin, cheap fabric with no reinforcement, at the points that most need to be strong
    • The cord is really long, and the little attachment that it came with was practically useless cause it wouldn't really hold the wire usually would just fall out and unravel itself all over the floor, but the extra cord length is convenient when moving from a digital piano (88-key) that is hooked up to a laptop via MIDI and the headphones are connected to the laptop
    • It appears they have used the cheapest wiring they could possibly find to connect the system to the head set; and bending with normal wear and tear is inevitable.
    • Apparently the wiring in one of the speakers is faulty
    • I normally prefer to listen to songs with beats in my headphones only these days... portability is surely an issue due to which I carry them as a bag as I fear that the wires might get damaged if I put them inside my sack... kinda funny, but thn all worth the money!!
    • Few months ago, the wire on the left side speaker literally broke off, from general usage
    • adio would come in and out like a loose wire
    • I've only had it nine months and the cheap wire has frayed insulation, and the ear piece tends to fall off.
    • I have treated the headphones gently, so this should not happen and it wouldn't if they had used decent gauge wire and reinforcement where the wires join to the headphones
    • There are no outward signs of anything having been 'pulled' or 'strained' to make the wire come loose and away from the
    • The other thing that annoys me is that the wire, while very long, ALWAYS gets tangled.
    • The wires on the speakers were severed due to use a few months ago but it was an easy fix
    • However, both pairs have failed due to poor wiring
    • Each can has its own wire lead-- models HD202 and HD202
    • Likely loose wire connections (sometimes jiggling the wires fixes the sound temporarily).
    • I downgraded the product to three starsThe right side died today, wire broke right near the actual speaker, tried to repair but the speaker part of wire was too small, so no success
    • and they've never been yanked about or put through anything that would cause the wires to disconnect or sever themselves
    • The probelem is created by faulty wiring
    • Would be nice if there was a way to shorten the lead wire.
