The build quality is acceptable for this price and the sound quality is a noticeable improvement over 555's.

Now, I'm not a fan of Bose, I think Sennheiser sounds better and their price is better, but by contrast with Bose, I was able to buy replacement ear cushions for my 2008 Bose On-Ear headphones, 7 years later in 2015, even after the headphones were discontinued, meanwhile I can't even buy replacement ear pads from Sennheiser for models they still are selling, like the HD599

The next step up would probably be the Focal Elegia at 900$ which is a hefty price increase for a nominal improvement in sound when using reasonably priced audio sources streaming Spotify at highness quality

This is a minor issue b/c the included 3.mm cable isn't too long to be tucked away and is thin and light to begin with.
