I've owned a variety of headsets from Logitech to HyperX and I prefer the HD 599
Pretty much like most people, I've gone through cheap listening options anywhere from 50 dollars to Apple ear buds, so the HD 438 was simply amazing comparatively.
Overall I loved the Sennheiser HD 599 SE and would highly recommend.
With that said, the HD 599's are great

The product is very comfortable with the head band and on the ears
n’t think this is an impressive product at the full $200 list price
Overall I like the product and am a big fan of Sennheiser products but regrettably I cannot rate this product higher because within two weeks of receiving my new headphones, the ear pads have this layer that is crumbling on my head
It makes me think a little less of both Amazon as well as Sennheiser products, as it honestly feels much more like a $50 headphone sold for $100 than a $200 headphone dropped to $100.If you can find it DEEPLY discounted, and have a very sturdy head, you can consider it
This is a minor issue b/c the included 3.mm cable isn't too long to be tucked away and is thin and light to begin with.
Your head small and want the Senheiser sound at affordable price

The build quality is acceptable for this price and the sound quality is a noticeable improvement over 555's.
The sound quality is very good and at an amazing price.
The next step up would probably be the Focal Elegia at 900$ which is a hefty price increase for a nominal improvement in sound when using reasonably priced audio sources streaming Spotify at highness quality
It lacks bass but with a little boost around 30 - 60hz on an eq sounds incredible
Bass is meaningful and deep without being muddy and mids and highs just sing.
so I don't have the expertise to describe correctly by any means,, but my impression was that the bass was sloppy and heavy, and the mid and high notes were not very clear, the bass would kind of wash over and muddle the other sounds
Surprisingly decent bass nothing crazy, great mids and highs , extremely comfortable, definitely a steal for the price , like then more than 200 Bose headphones
Nice bass extension, very clear sound, mids are a little bit muted to my hearing
But unless you are willing to go up in price to the even more amazing Sennheiser 600 or 650s, then these are a great option.
So audiophiles, this is a solid purchase given the price point and a reputable brand as Sennheiser.
This is a big improvement over the old proprietary red and white Sennheiser connectors

Crappy cable, but sound and comfort are what you want and get for affordable sennheiser headphones.
I will repeat: low impedance headphones are sensitive to source (the 3.5mm jack)’s output impedance
For HD 569, interestingly, they sound quieter than HD 6XX on one of my old USB sound card (same volume setting) which I suspect have high output impedance
This is only partially true: if the output impedance of your device is high, you may find low-impedance headphones harder to drive (since it cannot get enough voltage from the output source, roughly speaking impedance splits voltage). For example, when comparing my HD 6XX to these HD 599, HD 6XX has slightly lower volume on some devices, but they sound about the same on some other devices (with identical volume settings)
That is the other side of coin that is often overlooked: that high impedance headphones work better with high impedance source, the rule of the thumb (according the blog of NwAvGuy, google it), the output impedance should be less than 1/8 of your headphone to not
This is a minor issue b/c the included 3.mm cable isn't too long to be tucked away and is thin and light to begin with.
