Certainly, there is a DSP playing around here, but it sounds quite good; the bass rumbles, has good frequency range, is not muddy, and does not distort the other frequencies.

Same for that bass boost on-off only which can quickly become painful as the soundtrack changes.

I believe the item was returned because the original purchaser got frustrated as to set up since some fiddling with tv sound source is needed and on the Samsung the correct setting is in a level two menu in the advanced sound settings.
