I figured the hissing noise might be an issue with my home PC

Using the "analog" connection is likely to get you unwanted noise and hum.

With the digital you don't hear any static or interference noises in non-dialog or silent spots.

The bass is good and punchy as advertised but the Surround Sound feature is mediocre, voices get distorted and sound hollow and digital as if an android or a Synth from Fallout 4 was talking, and a hiss and static noise becomes prominent when using the high surround sound setting

, settings keep needing to be readjusted, and if I forgot to turn them off, after a few minutes it would let me know with a loud hissing noise audible across a large room.

While I can say that the product sounds good when plugged in with the optical cable to my on-board motherboard sound card, the sound quality is completely lost when using the analog cable, and a predominant hiss and static noise is clearly audible

The audio is clear and there is absolutely no static or background noise

A few years ago I tried to upgrade to Sennheiser's first digital version (RS 170), but I hated it because it had a weird humming noise and the lights on the headphones were too bright

Also it blocks outside noise well and is comfortable

My wife no longer complains that I have the tv too loud, and I can hear it without straining and without unwanted background noise

Much sturdier (more durable), more comfortable and blocks extraneous noise better than my two prior purchases of http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HWFPJKCWorks with standard or rechargeable AAA batteries

However the analog input consistently introduced an annoying flat lining noise and was unusable

Great sound, noise cancelation, comfort and set up

The ear fit & design are excellent, excluding all but loud ambient noise

I will let the headphones finish charging and see if anything improves (which i hope), if nothing improves i will be returning these on Tuesday at the latest and will be getting the RF 185
