When that happens the headphones pick up loud white noise, but you can easily turn that down or turn the headset off.

The intolerable hiss and noise and continuous slippage on RF tuning can be remedied by hours of reading the Amazon reviews, using "hiss" as the word of the day.

If the audio source is quiet for more than a minute or two, the base station will stop sending data, they headphones will produce a LOUD white noise/hissing sound.

As noted, if your TV goes into sleep mode they broadcast static noise so you have to turn them off or take them off if you are pausing the tV for a long while, no big deal to me

To kill the noise, detune the signal and volume

It performs exactly as described but the random popping and clicking noises are annoying and when there is silence for a few seconds, you hear a rather loud hissing noise

You can definitely hear some static noise in the background, although you can barely hear it and it doesn't interfere with what I'm watching.

Other than that headphones sound great, no static noise, if their is, change the position of the base or change the channel on the base

If I pause the TV program too long and the base station shuts off, the headphones start emitting static noise that is deafeningly loud.

It took me quite some time to find the right setting between my TV's volume, my headset volume and this darn frequency tuning knob to get something OK, not great, still quite some background noise, but OK
