    Shure SRH840 Professional Monitoring Headphones

    • If you listen to a lot of metal, you would hate bass boost like hell
    • The bass is not overpowering...just a bit more 'there' without being bloated or boomy (very natural, yet controlled
    • These are monitors so the bass is not exaggerated
    • Bass is strong but not
    • These have no exaggerated bass and no grindy mids
    • Incredible clarity, precise treble and mids, fantastic bass
    • Incredible clarity, precise treble and mids, fantastic bass
    • The Shure SRH840's seem to be all around great except I'll agree that they may be lacking a little bass
    • They are also very flat, and have good bass response!Good Buy!
    • After several days of burn-in, though, to my ears these phones are lacking bass extension, are plagued by an odd treble which makes cymbals sizzly and overly dry instead of metallic and there is an overall boxed-in quality to the sound
    • The bass is strong if a song has strong bass and it will sound softer if the song is softer
    • The bass is not a huge issue because my mixes aren't bass heavy.
    • the bass is a bit weak, this one is not for you if ur a bass addict .. the size of this thing is really huge .. but overall am pleased by the quality of the material and the sound .. i would have given it 5 stars if the bass was a bit deeper .
    • The reviews probably mention that bass is not quite the BEST, but, it is definitely not missing
    • With bass this deep, it is nearly impossible to exaggerate the bass, so ultimately the headphones with the more powerful bass is the one with the better deep bass.
    • bass detail and extension is pretty good
    • The bass although good, could be better
    • My iPod has many EQ settings, including "bass boost" and hey, I'm not eve a "bass head" or fanatic, I'm just a 51 yr old who likes a decent amount of rich, full, luscious bass mixed in alongside the great mids and highs
    • Smooth, accurate bass, slightly recessed compared to other over-the-ear
    • Bass extension is quite deep, and there is still good bass presence below 40Hz
    • Bass isn't overpowering but sound stage is quite limited
    • Although I will say that the bass could use a boost

    • Those had some nice bass and color to the sound
    • It is missing very deep bass and strangely has a tendency to sound a little warm/loose.

    • The only reason that I still listen to the Senn's with music with a lot of mid to high bass is that the rumble of the busses dampen the exaggerated bass; however, once I step off the bus, I always wish that I was listening to the Shure's.
    • Listening to super heavy bass tracks, it handles them nicely
    • Good bass quality, not too much but enough to make you numb
    • Also, bass can do more damage to your ear drums
    • SRH840 has a better bass then HD380
    • the bass is not as "boom", but it is present
    • They aren't extremely bass heavy like Beats headphones, but they at least feel very balanced to me in that they have deep, clean bass, clear mids and a very nice upper range
    • Bass is a little weak, but it's balanced and fits well with the excellent mids that these headphones can put out
    • When you listen to an Adele song and the bass is so strong that it sounds like a rap song, that is not a good thing
    • Some have noted the that the bass is a bit weak.
    • If you're a vocals man like myself who is tired of super boosted bass overpowering all the singing and rapping then you've come to the right headphones.
    • I know what I am talking about, a home I have the headphones with the best bass in the world, the Audeze LCD 3 and for $
    • WOULD NOT use them for recreational listening, lacking the bass most will desire.
    • The bass is excellent, a very clear reproduction of the sound, but it is not overly pronounced.
    • The headphones lack a little bit on the low end but I was still able to make a very nice bass mix with them for my cars subwoofer and stereo system
    • I got these about four days ago, and out of the box they were already crystal clear, neutral and had decent bass
    • It is a very durable headphone, has very good mids and bass, and is a jack of all trades device
    • Shure SRH840 - Great sound, smooth accurate bass, CLEANER SOUND, nice fit, solid buildSennheiser HD380 - Great sound, ENHANCED BASS, tighter fit, larger cans, less solid build
    • To compare with my old Sony MDR7506, those one have a better bass, so-so similar mids and less clear highs.
    • Enough bass, but not too much color.
    • However, after playing several bass heavy songs (try Bass Test - Feel The BASS!) seems the Sennheiser's bass is deeper, more like a subwoofer, although supposedly this is electronically enhanced.
    • if you like hard bass, look elsewhere
    • if you like hard bass, look elsewhere
    • People have described the bass as lacking in these
    • The mids and highs are very clean and the Bass might be slightly lacking for a few
    • If bass if a deal breaker for you, I'd say you should check out the Beyerdynamic DT 880, although for my ears the bass was too strong; it felt like the DT 880s were punching me in the ear drums, but that could just be me
    • Crystal clear across the spectrum, no muddy pumped up bass, just everything the way it's meant to be
    • It has excellent bass and highs, and is comfortable to wear for a long period of time
    • The bass is great on these
    • Pros:-Deep bass, but not that much that it is all
    • Decent bass
    • If you want stellar instrumental reproduction that's a little lacking in the warm bass region, these Shures will do great.
