Still, the Shure's did a satisfactory job

and I have to say that while these can't quite match the soundscape of a setup like that they do a very good job at delivering high quality audio at a much more affordable price.

In my quest to search for the best closed, non-noise-cancelling headphones that will do a satisfactory job of isolating the engine rumble of the bus that I take to and from work, I found that the choices are very few.

On the positive side, they definitely do a great job of sealing out ambient noise, and for catching any background noise that might have made it into my recordings

For example, the Acoustic EQ does a nice job of bringing warmth to the recording and also adds some depth and impact to the bass.

For not being noise cancelers, they do a good job of doing just that

I'm of a breed where I like to feel my music and not just hear it - in which case these headphones do a great job

I do have a reference playlist which contains songs that I know very well and, from an listening perspective, I thought the headphones did an excellent job reproducing those tracks
