We just use youtube videos of karaoke versions of popular songs (all of these are free, and there are 1000s).

The YouTube integration provides nearly unlimited song choice and the hardware is really robust for what it is

We are not abusing the system by cranking the volume or levels, just singing a few songs, plain and simple

My only complaint is that many of the settings are worthless however many of them ( when you figure out the right one for the right song) really are awesome and you sound really great, it just takes some patience.
