This is all very disappointing because the Spotify integration is very nice and the speaker is of good quality for its size

The SONOS application also possesses an algorithm to balance the sound in the room using your smartphone microphone (I would advise taking your phone out of any protective case before starting the calibration, as it will cause you to perform unnecessary steps in the long run).The sound quality is exceptional for the price, and integrates Home theater and music handily.
