Sonos Play:1 Compact Wireless Speaker for Streaming Music. Works with Alexa. (White)

    • Hopefully the firmware and app update will continue to work.
    • But honestly their limited system and the horrible update that was pushed out caused a ton of problems.
    • Well, it turns out that update did the trick.
    • Sonos may issue a software update that bricks your system (speakers then make nice paperweights).
    • I have invested in a LOT into my sonos system and the recent updates and the problems that have come after the updates are unacceptable.
    • Then came the relentless App updates, tinkering with the UI.
    • Okay, well the update would not process
    • It won't let me ignore the update so it's not working now.
    • When, however, you are using the app to group multiple rooms and taking advantage of updates that allow you to play different media in different rooms using Alexa (just examples) the updates suddenly become less burdensome
    • Set up and making updates are a hassle
    • We really like the Sonos system and the sound is very good but the app isn't very good and the constant updates are annoying.
    • However, if you don't like constant updates, or if you want a device that you can control without a phone, then this is not for you.
    • The updates don't work 80% of the time.
    • But since it Only works with WiFi and not airplay or Bluetooth you rely on apps not to break on updates (looking at you audible) and sonos not fixing it quickly
    • The latest update of their smartphone app is atrocious
    • I bought these so I could mostly play music on my computers and should not be forced to use sonos.com or new unnecessary updates all the time
    • Three months ago, before the last disastrous update of the Sonos App, I would have given a blazing review
    • In short, if you’re willing to put in the time regularly to get this system working as it’s supposed to, are okay with very few customization options and don’t need to share the system with anyone else in your household, you may be perfectly happy using Sonos
    • If you are sitting at your computer fooling around online and your favorite song just doesn't sound quite as crisp as you would like it to, or if you have a $200 budget to fill 1 room in your house with sound, keep looking, your speaker is out there somewhere ;-)I hope this helps, Cheers!
    • Although Sonos advertising their product works with Alexsa, Alexsa does not want to work with Sonos as of today December 2017
    • n’t see that it’s improved in any way (and it’s very buggy)
    • It doens’t support AirPlay and there are no plans to add support for it.
