    Sony BDP-S185 Blu-Ray Disc Player (2012 Model)

    • Simple, this is a great Blu-Ray player as well as streamer.
    • This is an excellent blu-Ray player with a very small footprint as the size of a netbook that weights around 2 to 3 pounds and it will not occupy your room
    • (but really for the price it's not a con)Was the most affordable blu-ray player that I could find by a major brand that played Amazon Prime Video...plus Netflix, HuluPlus, YouTube, and tons more!
    • Needed a compact Blu Ray player - and this is just right for that.
    • We love our Blu-Ray !
    • Regardless how good or bad the Blu-Ray plays, The unit is not equipped with Wireless
    • Great blu-ray
    • Pros: Excellent blu ray
    • I think this is a great blu-ray player, it is amazing, you can watch netflix on it (only ethernet) and huluplus
    • A very good blu ray player, compatible with most online services but no web browser and the remote is particular, it only wants to work if you are directly head on with the unit maybe a 45 degree field of reception at best.
    • It is a good blu ray player
    • This is a good basic blu ray player.
    • It will play regular as well as blue ray
    • I just love my Blu-Ray!
    • Straight forward Sony blu-ray player, no issues, good quality picture, some basic internet apps included as well
    • I thought this was a sharp blu-ray player, especially for its price.
    • This is a good basic blu-ray player.
    • Sony has delivered incredible value with excellent Blu-ray/DVD playback, a variety of the most popular streaming services, and a compact package that's power efficient and low-priced.
    • This is the best Blu-ray player I've purchased
    • but it likes the blue ray better.
    • Not a problem if you have a decent blu ray commercial collection, but it is problem if you have personal videos with "protected" audio or if you have downloaded blu ray movies.
    • My lovely new Blu-Ray player stopped working two months after I received it.
    • Other than that, great blue ray
    • The sony, as with most sony products, is a great basic Blu Ray player.
    • Good Blu-ray player.
    • Great blu ray in this price range.
    • I don't care for Sony tv's , but they make the best blu ray player you can get
    • but if all you need is a cheap Blu-Ray player, don't care for 3D,
    • good blu-ray player.
    • Would recommend to anyone wanting just a great blue ray player .
    • Other than that, this is a pretty basic Blu-Ray player that works without any surprises
    • Some reviewers who complain about slow or "noisy" Blu-ray loading (on this and many other players) are most likely first-time Blu-ray owners who don't understand that Blu-ray discs are significantly more complex than DVD
    • This is a fine blu ray player, as long as you have an ethernet cable to hook up to the internet.
    • Blu ray works great
    • This is a perfectly functional cheap Blu-ray player
    • So now I don't know what's more remarkable, a decent Sony blu-ray player for under $100, or my husband saying "you were right"...
    • If wireless and remotes are not important to you then this is an excellent Blue Ray player.
    • I needed something to [lay Blu-rays and DVDs -- and that's it
    • I like this sony blu-ray very much and it is easy to use .I think everyone should have one Thank you.
    • With that said, what it is, is a very good blu ray player with more online streaming content than any of its rivals in the below $100 price range
    • This is not the fastest blu ray player or media player but it isn't the slowest either
    • It plays DVD and Blu-Ray disks very well, with no problems so far.
    • This is definitely an awesome blu-ray player for the buck.
    • Only after we ejected the disc did we start to see the same artifacts happening in the on scree menu features as well.$70 is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I still have other products 10 years or older in other entertainment centers throughout the house which function almost as well as the day they were purchased
    • I recommend this player as it has an auto power off feature, even if you are online
    • Works great as a
    • Also, does not have built in WIFI, but this did not bother me as I had a wired Ethernet port near the TV.FYI: I did update the firmware before trying to use it, so I don't know if there were problems that were fixed or not.
    • The extremely high frequency of "Content Error" or "Network Error" and "Retry" messages whenever it tries to move from a show to an ad break or back, as well as having to click on Hulu Plus 7 or more times just trying to get onto internet content when the player has just been turned back on is enough to make the player too frustrating to bother with.
    • The item worked as it was supposed to
