Upconverting DVDs looks really good, but occasionally pixelated depending on the source quality(you are going from 480 to 1080p here)I really like the compact size of both the unit and the remote.

The size of the blu-ray player is compact, it delivers AMAZING blu-ray picture quality, and it comes with plenty of streaming apps and internet content such as Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, and more

The size is perfect for me and this player has many apps on it.

I like the compact size and it's easy for the kids to use.

This is an excellent blu-Ray player with a very small footprint as the size of a netbook that weights around 2 to 3 pounds and it will not occupy your room

I have 3 other Blu-Rays and except for the panasonic 3-d, this one is the best value

This Blu-Ray DVD player is a great value has a beautiful sound and play back is quick and easy - I'm replacing my other Blu-Ray player with another Sony - got to the NETFLIX with minutes

For the money I don't think any better value is out there right now.

All in all this is a great value for the money, if you want wireless, 3D, or the nice feature of DLNA you should look to spend more.

I have not had any issues playing any movies on my unit, load times are fast no more than 10-20 seconds if I had to guess (not enough time to bother getting off the couch).PROS: Affordable, Compact, Easy Setup (Plug and Play, easy as that), Multiple Outputs (I have an older surround sound receiver so having the Red/White/Yellow RCA outputs was nice, although I only used the RED & WHITE for sound output and the HDMI for video out, and sound to the TV when surround is not needed).CONS

The setup was easy and I was able to link up Amazon Instant withing the first 5 minutes of the set up

After the easy setup completed I updated the firmware & have no problems with freezing, unexpected shutdown, inability to play discs, slow internet connections, etc

Love this, easy setup and there are so many free movies you can watch with its neat features, with great quality just like you were watching on a DVD or TV

This Sony Blu-Ray Disc Player is sleek and much smaller than our older Sony DVD Player (that still works just fine).

It's a good DVD player, but I'm having a very hard time updating it.

The good old DVD is a totally different format that requires little, if any, processing which is why DVDs always load quickly on any player

And many of client's can see the better picture quality too.

i was just walking my ps3 from room to room same hdmi input and cable just switch plugs- the picture is darker and doesn't display close to as clear a picture- and NOTE this needs to be plugged into ur router or modem

Chose this model because it had RCA connections that are compatible with my TV which doesn't take HDMI, that and good reviews

I do NOT like the buttons for turning the machine off/on, play, etc are on top not on the front of the machine.

First off the remote is small and easy to hit wrong button if you move it around

You are telling me that I must pick up the remote and push an arbitrary button for no good reason 3 to 4 times during any movie just to keep the player on.

This Blu-Ray player does exactly what I want it to do: play blu-rays and play back 1080p MKV files on an NTFS-formatted hard drive.

Fortunately, after some research on the 'net, the problem with the USB Hard Drive was solved

The unit plays BluRay discs okay, but I mainly bought it to play AVI video from an external USB hard drive

The drive is quiet, the remote is compact

People have given it bad marks for not having wireless, but that's like faulting a 4 cylinder car for not having 6 cylinders.

People are complaining of lack of HDMI cable, but this was 68 dollars, hard to fault Sony for trying to cut costs

I went online to various sites and saw that other people were having the same issues and many recommended getting a Lan adaptor

Some people have complained about the unit taking a long time to power on and off but has only taken a few seconds each time

Now, it was never suggested that the it would come with anything different, but it would be nice for Sony to bundle a basic HDMI cable so that people could immediately hook it up and enjoy its full capabilities
