The blu ray player itself is very well built and does what its supposed to do.

Sony states that the hefty build is designed to prevent vibrations that could cause playback issues.

I also loved the fact that the player was so well built and the fact that it played SACDs (an innovation that Sony developed and championed.)

Extremely quick concerning the built-in apps such as VUDU or Netflix

As any other Sony product I’ve ever owned, this is really well built and solid – they actually advertise the solid chassis as a major selling point

Unfortunately it doesn't have a back light for dark room use, but at this price point, such a feature is unlikely anyway

This is only an issue if you're not using a SOny 4K tv with your player.

but I think the video quality of Netflix movies is better being played from this than the App on my Smart TV.

I would tend to think Bluetooth shouldn't really be all the big of a deal for many, as our receivers or soundbars or even TV's can generally fix that issue

If you run even a 25' cable from the HDMI out of the X800 into your UHDTV, it should not surprise you if, when you turn on the X800, that you will get a screen with an error message that essentially means the TV "knows" it is supposed to be receiving an true UHD signal, but that the signal has been so degraded, the TV is unable to "see" a UHD signal.

The USB drive did not fix the resume playback issue with Blu-rays.

After doing a bit of research and pulling my head out of my behind,i actually got it hooked up properly,I let the funky hook up mess w/me a bit to where integration was a major brain fart on my end,I hooked it up w/HDMI as video input,and a bitstream/coax cable for sound,this allows for more sound to be opened up above an HDMI,,you get PCM as well going this route,which does make a noticable difference in sound

With the Ghost Busters dvd it was a bit odd to see the movie quality being closer to a home video than to the filtered artificial prettiness of movies that we were used to
