It does an excellent job on upscaling 1080p, excellent 4K pictures with a non HDR set

I expected the picture quality to be amazing playing 4K and blu ray discs but this is not the case

so the player does the scaling; I use the "Auto2" setting for '4K Upscale Setting' in 'Screen Settings' which outputs 4K video for everything when connected to a 4K compatible TV

Sony didn't miss much building this great 4K Ultra HD Blueray DVD Player at a very fair price, you can't go wrong.

This model comes with an HDMI cable, has a better return policy, sells for less $$$, and you still get a coupon for 2 free 4K discs when you register it (out of a limited selection)

Our TV is an 80” Sharp and the picture and color is still excellent (despite lacking the Ultra HD 4K TV features).This is an excellent player and if you currently have an Ultra HD 4K TV then I would highly recommend the Sony 4K DVD player
