    Sony BDP-S185 Blu-Ray Disc Player (2012 Model)

    • It's faster, more reliable, and will connect to your preferred streaming service almost immediately
    • Sony also offers other free streaming from other sites with "free" movies.
    • Yes, you can stream videos from a few popular streaming services, such as Netflix, Amazon, etc
    • Lots of added streaming stations like Netflix, VUDU, You Tube, TMZ, etc.
    • Look elsewhere for a reliable streaming media player.
    • I already have Netflix and Amazon Prime subscriptions, so I was able to quickly configure this player to access my accounts and begin watching crystal-clear 1080P streaming videos.
    • It also handles streaming very well, easy to do searches and choose options.
    • Provided adequate Bluray and internet streaming
    • I get constant error messages, long load times, and ridiculously slow or interrupted streaming (which makes no sense, as I get about 16 mbps)
    • Buy a ROKU if you want awesome streaming capabilities.
    • Again, overall it's a good deal considering the price, but the streaming is hit or miss and very frustrating, although the blu-ray plays great
    • It supports wired and wireless streaming
    • The player freezes frequently if streaming from Amazon Prime or Netflix - I am using a wired connection with Verizon FiOS
    • Hulu is $7.99 monthly, Netflix is (with no DVDs by mail) $4.99 a month for limited streaming or $7.99 a month for unlimited streaming and Amazon instant video is free when you are an Amazon Prime member at $79 a year or a $7.99 a month plan
    • Sony has delivered incredible value with excellent Blu-ray/DVD playback, a variety of the most popular streaming services, and a compact package that's power efficient and low-priced.
    • The one I have now plays discs properly, but the streaming is basically useless
    • Unless you are right next to a main phone transfer station you will probably have problems streaming video
    • However, I prefer the wired streaming because I simply have fewer issues with it as I live in the suburbs with several other wireless networks around me
    • Yet Another Update: I bought a ROKU 3, and the streaming is perfect
    • If you are looking for a small foot-print, affordable ($87.47 at Amazon.com), versatile streaming Blu-Ray player, give the Sony BDP-
    • Easy to set up and use, sleek in design, and great streaming for netflix & amazon prime
    • The streaming is pretty and buffers a LOT less often than the LG we had previously.
    • It has plenty of streaming options like Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu Plus
    • , i really loved it, it is cheap it has all i need, i will recommend t
    • Only after we ejected the disc did we start to see the same artifacts happening in the on scree menu features as well.$70 is nothing in the grand scheme of things, but I still have other products 10 years or older in other entertainment centers throughout the house which function almost as well as the day they were purchased
    • I recommend this player as it has an auto power off feature, even if you are online
    • Works great as a
    • Also, does not have built in WIFI, but this did not bother me as I had a wired Ethernet port near the TV.FYI: I did update the firmware before trying to use it, so I don't know if there were problems that were fixed or not.
    • The extremely high frequency of "Content Error" or "Network Error" and "Retry" messages whenever it tries to move from a show to an ad break or back, as well as having to click on Hulu Plus 7 or more times just trying to get onto internet content when the player has just been turned back on is enough to make the player too frustrating to bother with.
    • The item worked as it was supposed to
