no smart TV.This unit works just great with our hard wired internet moden

Had a Blu-Ray disc stuck inside that was not removable except to take cover off and manually pull tray out which destroyed the unit

Some units out there must work, I guess, because 2/3 of the reviews are 4 or 5 stars

The last thing I enjoy is trying to figure-out some fancy unit with twelve tiny buttons it

Sadly, this unit failed under 1 year of use.

I'll make yet another trip to UPS to return this unit and when I get the next replacement I will smash it to bits in my garage!

Additionally, I found it for $40 - what a bonus for such a great device!The unit streams well and loads quickly, in fact it loads quicker than my old Blu-ray player (which was prone to locking up), so I bought two of these; a replacement for the family room and one for the bed room

Hooked it up, worked great for about 3 months until a firmware update in May, after the update the unit has numerous problems

The unit looks very nice, almost like an infinitely smaller Xbox 1 (ALMOST and LIKE being the operative words)

Now, because I asked for a refund and refused 70%, SONY will not authorize an exchange of the defective unit either

Fortunately Sony offered to ship a replacement and a prepaid return label for the defective unit after a not completely insane amount of troubleshooting over the phone

Another hour on the phone with Sony trying all sorts of steps, they finally concede this 3rd unit has a problem and authorized a replacement.
