Frankly, I was afraid to buy a refurbished unit, but thus far it has surpassed my expectations - just a few minor scratches and missing a manual and batteries for the remote
-
My hope is the new batteries will solve the problem in which case this review will be devoted to the crappy batteries manufacturers always included with new gear.
-
So, I put fresh, premium batteries in the remote, things seem to be fine but I will continue to monitor performance.
-
so i took the batteries out, nope, same problem, maybe a problem with the sony
-
My hope is the problem is the batteries that came with the remote - they are cheapies but even so should last longer than a month.
-
Its compatible alright, but so slow as the be unusable
-
Two weeks out of warranty, it burned up, or as good as.
-
Now, on to more important issues for this new S6500: performance is very high for Blu-Ray (regular and 3D), for older DVDs as well as for streaming (Amazon Prime)
-
Its fast, it works as it should, doesn't freeze up, my wife loves how easy to operate it is and the netflix button is a great option, we are very pleased
-
But BD-R and DVD-R work fine
