Here I can brighten my image (especially useful when displaying 3D images which are darkened by 3D shutter glasses) or modify brightness and contrast on older, low quality DVDs

This player has fantastic image quality when playing discs, among the best players I've used (but you can get a great stand-alone player for less).With a subscription, a PS controller AND a USB cable (no wireless) you can also play some rental games and other Playstation 3 games included with the service, single player only.

I tried both, and naturally I got better image quality from the wired connection, although the Wi-Fi image was still pretty darn good.

Amazon streaming works only intermittently - bizarrely, the controls stop working even though the movie continues to stream beautifully, with good and clear image and sound.

Watching my first Amazon Prime movie I could see that the image was superior then TV by itself.

[I popped in my older Video Essentials DVD test disk which has great images of a wind blown flag, bridge cables and stadium seats, all of which create havoc for poorly designed players

Two weeks out of warranty, it burned up, or as good as.

Now, on to more important issues for this new S6500: performance is very high for Blu-Ray (regular and 3D), for older DVDs as well as for streaming (Amazon Prime)

Its fast, it works as it should, doesn't freeze up, my wife loves how easy to operate it is and the netflix button is a great option, we are very pleased

Note also that while the S6700 supports dual band (2.4G and 5G) the S6500 does not
