    Sony FDR-X1000V/W 4K Action Cam

    • here is the link: http://helpguide.sony.net/cam/1520/v1/en/print.pdfYou will also love the app if you did not buy the live view remote, this app replaces it, which includes a much more simpler interface to set up the configuration of your new Sony Action Cam, compared to the manual buttons on the camera itself
    • The link on Sony’s web site is easier because it takes you directly to the correct app
    • The app installed easily and worked properly on my iPhone 6 with IOS 8; others have reported problems.
    • However, a sleek camera-specific app would really make this camera shine and is really the one area that the GoPro camera excels at over the Sony.
    • I was able to download the Sony smart phone app for my iPhone 6+, connect to the camera in a couple of minutes, and control the camera from the phone
    • The iPhone app to use this camera is sketchy at best.
    • While in-camera menu navigation and setting / configuration tweaking can require quite a few frustrating button presses stepping through unrelated menu items in order to get to the relevant ones, the use of the above-mentioned PlayMemories Mobile app with a mobile device can not only make setting / configuration tweaking easier, but also provides the following additional conveniences: navigate to the online Help Guide for the X1000V if the web is available, and switch to the included Highlight Movie Maker software to create highlight clips for web sharing, perform basic editing, and view and / or delete the saved media files.
    • There is no View Finder, but with an Android or iPhone version of Sony's PlayMemories Mobile [PMM] app installed on your smartphone or tablet, you can use the latter device(s) as some sort of a view finder as well as to remotely control the action cam, including changing camera modes and settings (you can also purchase the more expensive product bundle that includes Sony's Live View Remote, or purchase just the latter separately; but since I don't have the Live View Remote, I can't comment on it further except to say that I don't have a need for it currently, because I'm able to do everything I want to do just using my Android and the PMM app.)The
