Sony Premium Noise Cancelling, Bluetooth Headphone, Black (MDR1000X/B)

    • Great features like tap and hold right ear to open Mic to hear what's going on around you.
    • The main reason why I have the QC35s is because my wife prefers the comfort of the Bose headphones (and I must agree it is more comfortable and does not make my ears get hot as fast).
    • My ears feel hot after 1 hour listening

    • Touch controls are fun, silencing with cupping right ear is nice and being able to turn off noise cancelling is a great feature.
    • The touch controls on the right ear pad is great, pretty useful volume/playback controls
    • However, there is a feature that lets you pump ambient noise in to the headphones to let you hear what is going on, its as easy as placing your hand on your right ear!I bought these for air travel, but they have become my everyday headphones
    • good sound but uncomfortable ear cups and headband
    • If your ear does not hurt after using it for prolonged period of time
    • (you'll hear a bang in your right ear
    • It practically hurts my ears
    • If I need to give fuller attention, I can press the ambient sound button to let in all noise, or raise my hand to the right ear to temporarily allow all sound to come in
    • The noise canceling feeling takes a while to get used too, almost like my inner ear is off (Dizzy isn't quite the feeling)
    • I have loved these headphones for a year but now at the 14 month mark they have developed an intermittent crackling in the right ear.
    • These sounded great, great built with the alcantara features, amazing clarity, a really good balanced level of bass, but they hurt my ears as I use
    • But, I know moving me head to look at my 2nd monitor can make my right ear squeak.
    • My ears actually start hurting after wearing them for 15 minutes or so.
    • My previous pair of bluetooth headphones was very heavy, and after less than an hour of use my ears would start to hurt and the headband would press uncomfortably on the top of my head
    • The sounds are very warm, the bass is deep and not too sharp, high hats don't hurt my ears (a huge problem I had with Dre Beats), and the noise cancelling
    • overall is a great product.but my ear gets pretty warm, and I can hear a slight hum when NC is turned on in an already quiet environment.
    • so my ears are uncomfortable after like one song
    • The sounds are very warm, the bass is deep and not too sharp, high hats don't hurt my ears (a huge problem I had with Dre Beats), and the noise cancelling
    • Another great feature is that you can cup your hand over the right ear cup and everything turns off so that you can answer a question or hear something important
    • If you need to speak to someone or hear what's around you, hold your hand over the right ear.
    • There is no tight clamping feel on my head and no sore ears after 3 hours of usage
    • I also used the cup the right ear to turn off NC, and turn the Mics on so you can hear what your SO or the stewardess is saying
    • Ear get hot, Bose qc35 is more comfortable and less hot
    • It shouldn’t be clamping so tight that we get headaches and our ear feel sore after a short period of usage
    • Love the touch features on the right ear cup
    • It hurt my ears when I had my ear rings on
    • They also have this really cool feature where if you put your hand over the right ear piece it turns off the noise cancelling and reduces the

    • Like 3 hours my ears hurts
    • Sometimes my ears get too hot or the headband causes discomfort if I put them on for multiple hours
    • Comfortable, although during extended wear my ears get a little warm.
    • The features, especially the one with covering the right ear cup for listening to outside world feels very natural and its comfortable not take off the headphones every second
    • Volume control and forward/back are also controlled by swiping gestures on the right ear cup
    • They're light, they seem to effortlessly omit all ambient sound, the battery life is great (20+ hours), the sound quality is *superb*, and the touch controls and "cup right ear to listen to world around you" feature just work.
    • No appreciable ear fatigue after 4 hours of use, making them more comfortable than ear buds or my on-the-
    • The option to hear your surroundings by cupping the right ear is awesome and extremely useful

    • Fantastic sound, toggling noise cancelling by putting a hand over your right ear is indispensable at the office
    • c. reduce noise but allow some ambience in (both voice and otherwise)Another awesome feature is that if you cover the right ear muff while listening with NC on, the headphones turn off the NC temporarily and pipe in ambient audio using the two NC microphones on the outside of the earmuffs
    • works as good or better than a $99 ear bud & they have a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
    • This is one thing most reviewers were complaining about, but I have been able to use this headphone without ear fatigue for a very long time
    • It can also be interesting sometimes to hear what people are saying while they assume you can't hear with your headphones on :P.A killer feature of the Sony's is the smart earcup on the right ear.
    • The only complaints I have are that they do feel a little plasticky and there is a touch sensitive button on the right ear and I hit it every time I put them on and take them off
    • The touch controls on the right ear (to include covering the right ear to turn music down and turn on local microphones + boost) are very good, might take a touch of getting used to, but once you do, you'll be using them without a thought.
    • I also liked the gesture controls, especially the silencing function by putting a hand on a right ear cup
    • I took it with me for my commute, 20 minutes of bus ride and 40 minutes of subway ride, and while the sound quality and noise cancelling was good, it had this clicking noise from the right ear cup (which must be caused by the noise canceling, since it disappears when I disable NC), which seems to be happen whenever the bus or train shakes
    • grips the ear tighter leading to discomfort due to my glasses after 30 min
    • To switch from song to sing you have to make sure and swipe from one side of the right ear piece to the other
    • Unfortunately I hear some sort of loose piece in the right ear cup when I am walking now

    • whatsoever.-By far the coolest feature of these headphones is if you put your hand over the right ear cup, it'll instantly turn down the volume to low and amplify everything outside of your headphones using the microphone so you can talk to people like flight attendants, friends or hearing airport alerts, without having to take off your headphones
    • My favorite feature is holding my hand up to the right ear to instantly enable "bionic hearing" mode.
    • I suffer from situations where even when I use isolating aftermarket ear bud covers from comfy they still tend to come out when I'm doing simply things like going to the gym or mowing the lawn.
    • I also like the function where I'm listening to music and being dead to the world, and I needed to hear some body for a second, all I need to do is to cup my hand over the right ear cup and the music is temporary lowered and the outside is turned on in the headphones
    • Last but not least: All of the controls are on your right ear
    • Ear Cup Size/Comfort/
    • I bought these headphones because (1) I am a student (2) I work in libraries / at my cubicle at school (3) in-ear headphones were hurting my ears
    • They fit well covering my whole ear... can wear them on a 10hr flight no problem.
    • I wish it had dedicated buttons for volume up/down (I don't like swiping as sometimes I have accidentally cut the call)
    • went to best buy before Black Friday to try out the 1000x and QC35 from BOSE.1000x has higher clamp force - but not as that uncomfortable as others describe
    • I found that -- PXC550 had an evenly beautiful sound but somewhat veiled/warm, the mighty bass drum blow in "Dies ire" did not shock as on the 1000X, and the harp arpeggio in the beginning of Nutcracker Waltz was hazy on the PXC550, but delicately clear on the 1000X.
    • Everything works exactly as it claims to
    • Sony has a pocket inside for the airplane adapter, then a mesh pocket on the outside for a cord (which I don't like as it tends to snag when you're stuffing the thing inside a bag - would have rather just had the pocket on the inside)
    • I'm coming from the MDR-1A, which had a phenomenal soundstage that you could hear and feel distances with, but they started creaking as you moved your head
    • As for me, I would never be ignorant or inconsiderate as to communicate with someone in such a manner, and I would expect the same consideration in return.
