• Reviews around headphone (3.26 of 5)

Sony Premium Noise Cancelling, Bluetooth Headphone, Black (MDR1000X/B)

    • Definitely better than my Beats Studio 2 edition headphones.
    • The best noise cancelling headphones
    • The Sony's also use a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, which I like, since I use an external DAC many times with my headphones
    • I'm going to start this review by saying that I love my MDR-1000x headphones, and I find them to have great sound and comfort
    • These are my favorite noise cancelling headphones on the market as of November 2, 2016 BY FAR
    • Giving it 2 stars because the other features works fine and I still use this as my daily headphone - but I could have paid a lot less for a great pair of headphones without the noice cancellation.
    • The sound quality is good (not quite as good as other headphones, still VERY good) but the noise cancelling is phenomenal
    • This isn't acceptable for fairly expensive headphones
    • The headphones were quite comfortable for my various 8 hour plane rides.
    • Best headphones I've ever used
    • Sitting next to a loud heater, when I turn on the noise-cancellation, the loud buzz goes to a quiet hum!Audio quality: Also excellent, but not any better than the $30 in-hear headphones that come with my iPhone
    • That said, I like using the Sony headphones so much that the m50x has been transitioned into being my "at work" headphones and the Sonys are for everything else
    • There pretty amazing headphones, sound is pretty good with Bluetooth compared to past brands I had in (bose, beats etc
    • There pretty amazing headphones, sound is pretty good with Bluetooth compared to past brands I had in (bose, beats etc
    • It is a good headphone, my first wireless in fact
    • I enjoyed these headphones as soon as I got them.now, having owned them for less than a year, I've also run into the dreaded cracking issue.
    • but still, if for you the noise is an issue then go for the Sennheiser momentum 2 noise cancelling over ear headphones
    • Overall, these are fantastic headphones.
    • I love my headphones, but unless this issue is properly fixed, and Sony learns how to support their products, I cannot in good conscience recommend them to others
    • That being said, they certainly aren't the warmest headphones I've tried
    • Altogether, I highly recommend these headphones
    • Excellent headphones
    • headphones were great but the charging cable did not work
    • The headphone feels pretty sturdy and looks greatCons:-I own other old fashion headphones like the Audio‑Technica ATH‑M50x, wired and no noise cancelling
    • I had been debating buying noise cancelling headphones for quite some time and after doing a lot of research and coming down to these and the Bose QC 35, I decided on these
    • This headphone still have plenty of room to go, so for you all with large brain buckets, not to worry
    • Great headphones with excellent noise cancelling
    • Heavy footed walking upsets the headphones as do other impact style body movements like when you do yard work
    • As an Alaskan in outdoor cold, my fingers can't do the double or triple click with consistency like so many headphones require to control skip and back.
    • These headphones are awesome at playing music and cancelling noise, so I would recommend picking them up if you have some spare couch change to spend.
    • Awesome noise cancelling headphones
    • but I love these headphones
    • These headphones served me well for about one year
    • These headphones are phenomenal
    • I didn't think that wireless headphones were capable of the depth of sound that these demonstrate
    • The best headphones I've tried
    • They are good noise canceling headphones, with good features, but almost any other review will tell you that
    • Great headphones.
    • I've never really trusted headphones with joints directly above the can, but these seemed sturdy enough
    • I like my headphones, but they could have been much better
    • I love these headphones
    • After many customers have complained Sony is not replacing headphones with cracked bands with new sets but the new set also has the SAME flaw
    • Let me be very clear: these are great headphones, with great noise cancelling.
    • I really like these headphones
    • I love headphones and have tried most brands
    • I'm giving the headphones a 4.5 (9 out of 10)I worked at best buy during the time the mdr1000x came out, and as far as headphones went, the Bose QC35 was my dream pair
    • These headphones sound great but are not durable at all
    • All in all, despite the slight price difference I would recommend the Sony over the Bose and for the price point I believe this is the best headphone in its class
    • Crisp hi-notes and deep bass without being overpowering, like most Sennheiser headphones I have owned have
    • Not as load as I would have liked, but great headphones
    • I cannot believe this $350 headphone has the quality problem
    • Just removed headphone and broke the left side
    • These are really excellent headphones
    • nice noise cancelling headphone
    • support to figure out if the headphone was defective or the feature was toggled off
    • Bought mine in March 2017 and noticed this weekend that the right headphone now crackles constantly when noise cancellation is on.
    • These are comfortable, not the MOST comfortable headphones I've ever
    • These are the best headphones I have ever listened to.
    • I love my new headphones
    • Best headphones I’ve ever had.
    • Sony Premium Noise Cancelling, Bluetooth Headphone, Grey Beige (
    • Great headphones but not perfect.
    • They drown out my coworker that used to literally have screaming matches with my boss right behind me, so these headphones are absolute perfection.
    • Go with the newest Bose offerings instead.---I feel pretty conflicted giving these headphones a 3 star review
    • Can highly recommend this headphone for sound quality and noice cancelling.
    • so I turn on the “voice only” feature and these headphones tune out the streetcar noises but still let human voices in
    • In this case -- no pun intended -- there's no need to even consider getting this headphone for the sound quality when it will most likely break just from being in contact with my ears
    • These headphones sound great as blue tooth headphones
    • However, I will say that if you're reluctant to spend a lot on noise cancelling headphones, the Sennheisers are a good buy for the money.
    • I upgraded my stars to 4, because short of this physical breakage issue, the headphones are great
    • I should pace myself with these astonishing wireless headphones
    • So, if you just need great headphones and aren't going to connect to more than one source, by all means get these
    • However the headphones have a MAJOR flaw if you want to use them for just having a quiet flight in a plane or general noise cancelling without playing music
    • I stopped at a major technology store while traveling to NYC and tried on more than 10 different noise canceling headphones
    • I love these headphones
    • Excellent headphones -
    • The MDR1000X has a much more natural sound like a non noise-cancelling headphone, and also extends both higher and lower than the QC35 with enough soundstage for classical music
    • The right headphone serves as a touchpad and I love being able to leave my phone in my pocket, however when you skip tracks there's a momentary pause before the next song plays
    • Love these headphones very light weight love all of Sony products could not afford to pay full price so when I saw the refurbished price I jump right on them
    • Best headphones I've ever owned, noise cancelling is great
    • I'll spare you the gory details, but at least on Windows 10, these headphones separate the 'phone' like capabilities from the quality listening mode, and does not allow for using both at the same time
    • These headphones sound great, but you can REALLY feel it's lack of bass
    • Enjoying these headphones a lot
    • Great headphones, but poor design at the ear joints
    • The details are present and much more imphasized, there are instruments on some tracks I listened to that are more noticeable now on these headphones.-A well rounded headphone, meaning it performs well on all genres of music, even wired but turned on
    • These headphones are great when it comes to comfort and functionality, but it missed a very simple component VOLUME!
    • Overall Opinion:These are really good noise cancelling headphones, but that being said, the sound quality is just not there
    • * ROUND THREE: Sony H.ear on Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphone, Charcoal Black (MDR100ABN/B)
    • I wear glasses so on-ear headphones typically generate pain at my ears after about 30 minutes of usage.
    • Some of the best headphones I have ever owned
    • Excellent headphones
    • Update (3 weeks after purchase): I still love the headphones, but there are a couple things they lack
    • Great headphones, however the touch controls are tricky and take some getting used to
    • These are hands down the best NC headphones on the market
    • These headphone sound great, especially for a pair of wireless headphones
    • I like the interface (in this case using Apple iphone); forward/back, volume up/down; hold for siri, receive calls; send calls; forward skip/reverse all with touch gestures on the right headphone.
    • But, if you are looking for a loud bass heavy headphone, these are not it
    • These headphones are capable of playing high resolution audio and make music and surround sound audio sound great
    • These headphones are comfortable and predominantly do the trick.
    • These headphones are great
    • Despite this, I still really liked the headphones, probably because they're my first high-end pair
    • I suffer from a bit of anxiety when flying, every time that I hear any type of noise from the plane my heart races, but with these I can't hear a thing and it has made a world of difference.10/10 would recommend to anyone that is looking for good headphones
    • Love the headphones
    • I really enjoy these headphones.
    • These are by far the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn
    • These "amazing" headphones lasted me only for a few months, until my headband cracked (see photo)
    • The plastic cracked with little use like a cheap headphone.
    • Love these headphones
    • There is absolutely no reason for these headphones to degrade and break the way they have in such a short amount of time
    • Final verdict:If you need a rocking pair of noise-canceling headphones, this is it
    • Good noise canceling and best sound qulity amoung all the active noise canceling headphones.
    • I dreamed of a world where I only used one set of very quality good looking headphones for all my audio and communication needs
    • The sound quality blows away my Sony MDR-1RBTMK2 wireless headphones.
    • I've tried so many pairs and this is the best sounding and absolute best noise canceling headphones I've ever tried
    • You can also use the headphones to enhance ambient sound, with an aptly labeled button.
    • Audio quality is also very important but if there’s too much outside noise, even the best headphones are not enjoyable.
    • Some headphones squeak or creak
    • Jogging outdoors, during rain included (Jacket hood can brush the right cup and fast forward what I'm listening to, but that's not the headphones' fault).Assembling furniture/home exercise equipment
    • Noise Cancelling headphones often have difficulty with exactly the kind of
    • I really feel these headphones are incredible
    • : I have a quite large noggin (size large on cycling helmet), some headphones were impossible for me to use without getting a
    • These headphones are pretty comfortable, but if you're a glasses wearer, you may get tired of them sooner than others
    • The audio quality is astounding, NC is great, headphones are sleek and comfortable on my head
    • I can’t recommend these headphones enough
    • Great headphone!!!!!
    • I personally choose these headphones over the QC35s because I like the noise cancelation better, the sound is comparable, the on headphone features are very useful.
    • These noise canceling headphones are awesome! They
    • These are the best NC headphones I have owned
    • This is a great pair of wireless, noise cancelling headphones
    • Best headphones I ever had.
    • When I plugged my Sennheisers into the Walkman and listened, you could tell the difference immediately - don't get me wrong, Sennheiser makes great headphones, but the MDR1000X is just better.
    • Awesome headphones, really Love them.
    • These are good headphones
    • Very good headphones
    • The features, especially the one with covering the right ear cup for listening to outside world feels very natural and its comfortable not take off the headphones every second
    • The headphones are also extremely comfortable.
    • The headphones are easy to pair, and easy to use
    • They were professional and offered to exchange my broken headphones
    • Bar none the best noise cancelling headphones on the market.
    • (with the Bose, I simply move one headphone off one ear, but I prefer the Sony control)
    • I loved my Bose headphones and traveled the world with them logging tens of thousands of miles with them traveling from Alaska to Romania
    • Overall these have become my go-to headphones for travel and general use outside of the house, and I can highly recommend them to anyone looking for NC-capable headphones that are also looking at Bose
    • I know they said that they were the best sounding headphones of 2016 and all that, but how can I appreciate a great sound when I cant bearly hear it!!
    • Switched to these after owning the Sennheiser Momentum Wireless which are great headphones as-
    • Great headphones, however the touch controls are tricky and take some getting used to
    • What an amazing difference it will be, with such a broad sound stage afforded by these magnificent headphones
    • These are incredible headphones
    • Very useful feature for anyone who doesn’t like taking off headphones when talking to people or listening for something
    • The most compatible headphones in this price class are the Bose QC35s, and they only area where they outmatch the Sony's are in straight noise cancellation, but the capabilities Sony has built in with its ambient sound awareness make these the headphones to buy
    • Great headphones
    • Great bluetooth noise cancelling headphones overall
    • These headphones are great when it comes to comfort and functionality, but it missed a very simple component VOLUME!
    • For a bluetooth headphones, well, the bluetooth chip inside this headphone is excellent but your bluetooth device also needs a great bluetooth chip in order to work properly
    • Overall, these headphones are comfortable, have clear and strong sound, and do exactly what they are supposed to do - getting rid of that constant, mind-numbing noise that is our lives when we board a commercial airline.
    • Very good headphones, if it wouldn't be for the flawed design/materials
    • Best headphone purchase.
    • Awesome headphones if you look for quality sound this is the perfect choice
    • Love these headphones very light weight love all of Sony products could not afford to pay full price so when I saw the refurbished price I jump right on them
    • Great headphones
    • These headphones are comfortable, the sound quality and noise cancelling are excellent, and the controls are intuitive
    • These are excellent headphones.
    • However, these headphones have proven me wrong on both counts
    • These are hands down the best wireless noise cancelling headphones currently available
    • I love this headphone
    • Brilliant headphones and there are no problems after 6 months of having
    • A colleague recommended this Sony headphone, and we compared it to the latest Bose Quiet Comfort A35.
    • The main reason why I have the QC35s is because my wife prefers the comfort of the Bose headphones (and I must agree it is more comfortable and does not make my ears get hot as fast).
    • :The Sony MDR-1000x headphones looked more business like and more subtle than my Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Wireless headphones
    • I want to give everyone the full rundown so you can make an informed decision about whether these headphones are right for you:I'll start off by saying this is the best purchase I have ever made in my life, but that doesn't mean these headphones are perfect for everyone.-
    • No, they are not the perfect noise-cancelling headphones, but this is because they are dynamic
    • I was really excited based on the other reviews and figured if they were good headphones AND noise cancelling it would worth the money.
    • The headphones work great and block out quite a bit of background noise
    • Now, it seems that Sony may replace the headphones under warranty if they crack; however, this doesn't fix the underlying design flaw
    • On a cheaper set of headphones, sure these would be 4 or 5 star headphones easy, but that's not what these are
    • In the box are the hard case, headphones, USB charging cable, headphone cable for wired operation, and dual 1/8" headphone adapter for wired use that are on some aircraft
    • Good headphones but way to expensive.
    • I really loved these headphones
    • *Sony, with a wealth of experience in audio products and technology have successfully created a super sonic headphone that can make consumers part with their money willingly
    • so I took two stars off because the headphones are no longer useable
    • Best noise cancelling headphones right now
    • When I was looking for noise cancelling headphones, I was fearful that I would be constantly running out of juice at inopportune moments or scrambling for batteries
    • Outstanding headphones that are worth the price.
    • I finally bit the bullet and bought some expensive, noise cancelling headphones
    • In general, for $50 less I think the Bose offer a better headphone for my needs.
    • These headphones are really good, I enjoyed them very much, good looking as well, the sound is clear, punchy and alive, the soundstage isn't that great as they are On-
    • Amazing headphone
    • Both headphones are comfortable and provide high quality noise cancelling, but the deal breaker for me was sound quality and versatility
    • I have loved these headphones for a year but now at the 14 month mark they have developed an intermittent crackling in the right ear.
    • These headphones are awesome!!
    • These are a nice set of noise cancelling headphones, but be forewarned, there are definitely better sounding headphones at the $400 price point
    • These are excellent noise cancelling headphones - the best I've owned in terms of noise cancelling
    • Obviously, everyone pointed to the Bose QC35’s as the best noise cancelling headphones on the market
    • Instead, you will get an annoying voice in your ear from the Bose headphones saying "Ready to connect" or words to that effect
    • Overall, this is a great headphone
    • The headphones sounded great and we're comfortable
    • Great sounding headphones and amazing fit
    • Previous review after 30 days: I love the headphones
    • On the high-end of the music spectrum, these are great sounding headphones with good separation and detail
    • best headphone's there loud and powerful and the music comes alive when you listen to it and the bass is
    • That's definitely user learning curve on my part because these headphones are DOPE.Crazy expensive, but well worth the splurge.
    • I really do love these headphones
    • In a tier of headphones that include Beats, Bose, etc, these are the greatest headphones
    • Update (3 weeks after purchase): I still love the headphones, but there are a couple things they lack
    • These are excellent headphones for wireless and wired use
    • headphones were great but the charging cable did not work
    • I love my headphones, but unless this issue is properly fixed, and Sony learns how to support their products, I cannot in good conscience recommend them to others
    • If you only want to connect to your phone, or basically any ONE source, these are the best headphones out there
    • Because the headphones are not the most comfortable, they require adjusting frequently
    • I also feel like these headphones are more premium for some reason
    • The touch pad controls on the outside of the headphones works well too and is very convenient.
    • I love this headphone and pairing was very quick
    • Sitting next to a loud heater, when I turn on the noise-cancellation, the loud buzz goes to a quiet hum!Audio quality: Also excellent, but not any better than the $30 in-hear headphones that come with my iPhone
    • It is a geared towards a "Smarter" headphone, a gestured controlled instant volume decrease, together with the Sense Engine Tech2
    • but I do really love the headphones.
    • I love these headphones
    • These headphones have made long flights much more enjoyable, and double as hearing protection with music when mowing the lawn or leaf blowing
    • Overall, I love this sony headphone, I would keep it if the price is below $300
    • Hands down the best headphones I’ve ever purchased
    • These are excellent headphones, I'd recommend these with no hesitation to anyone with the money to spend.
    • Great sounding headphones, wired or Bluetooth.
    • Overall, these are the real deal and should be a serious consideration for those looking at the QC35 or a good solid pair of "nice" headphones.
    • As noted if you've never dropped a couple hundred on good headphones, or many hundreds/thousands on a proper sound system then you will be in for a big surprise.
    • Since I was going for a 15+ hour long-haul flight, it was very tempting to get a comfortable over-ear noise-cancelling headphone instead of opting for IEM that squeezes into my ear
    • Sony MDR-NC20 noise cancelling headphones.
    • What I want to do here is compare this Sony piece with my last pair of wireless, noise cancelling headphones - the Plantronics Backbeats (1).The Backbeats (1) is a highly functional piece of equipment
    • These headphones have started cracking
    • I loved the headphones, l loved the design and all of its features, however I was forced to return it because the microphone quality is so
    • This Bluetooth headphone from Sony is as good as it can get in the noise cancelling, wireless audio headphones
    • The Sony destroys the Bose headphones on noise cancellation.
    • The best tool you could use to enhance the NC is the OPTIMIZER, which runs a test and adjusting itself to the user to block much of the Noise, this is done by holding the NC button for about 2-3 Sec.-After Burn-in of about 20 Hours, the headphone sounded so much better than from right out of the box
    • These headphones insulation is why they beat almost all other noise canceling headphones.), but they also keep heat in
    • Be careful these headphone are brittle.
    • The earbpads are comfy just like the other two headphones being compared
    • These are the best headphones money can buy right now
    • However, I’m buying “noise canceling headphones,” so noise canceling ability and comfort are the two most important factors.
    • Great sounding headphones with superb noise canceling , a sturdy case and great battery life
    • I expected it to be a lot heavier than a normal wired headphone like AKG k240 MKII, but no, it is only heavier by a small margin
    • and although I have some gripes about sound quality and some features, they are way ahead of competing active noise cancelling headphones (in my opinion) if you take the sound quality, noise cancellation and the features as a complete package which is why I think they deserve five stars.
    • I rely on noise cancelling headphones to do my work, and while I've used the Bose for a long time, I decided to upgrade for various reasons.
    • Overall these headphones were NOT worth the $432 I spent for them
    • I have wanted some nice noise cancelling headphones for a while
    • Such beautiful headphones with some smart features, but sadly they lose it in some easy places
    • The greatest headphones I've ever used
    • The main reason that I bought noise-cancelling headphones is to isolate myself from noise, not to listen to music; I don't understand why they need to be constantly paired with a device in order to use them.
    • Sony Premium Noise Cancelling, Bluetooth Headphone, Black (MDR1000X/B)Great headphones
    • If you're into music and want noise canceling headphones, look no further
    • These are phenomenal headphones
    • These headphones are feature-rich and if you get these, you should read the Help Guide at least once
    • Controls for music playback are touch-sensitive on the right headphone
    • These "smart" headphones are smart indeed
    • My impression was that these are some really great headphones, but Sony really dropped the ball in a big way on Windows functionality
    • I love these headphones
    • However, these headphones were unable to resolve an issue that has plagued many other wireless headphones
    • If you are looking for headphones to only cancel background noise and only need to pair up with a single device these are your headphones but, if you need to make and take phone calls in all environments and pair to multiple devices seamlessly then look elsewhere because Sony will let you down.
    • other than that, very solid quality headphones.
    • Unbelievably great headphones
    • Other than that I love these headphones and very happy with the well rounded sound and batttery life.
    • Therefore, requiring the headphones to be charged trough a laptop is not working for me
    • Either way great headphones.
    • I expected the headphone to sound bright and with more warmth, afterall they are not making it for studio referencing, so I expected them to colour the audio quality a bit, to make it sound interesting and “awesome”
    • Excellent headphones, super crisp audio with great response, the noise cancelling is up there with the best
    • Excellent headphones, super crisp audio with great response, the noise cancelling is up there with the best
    • Sony 1000X is a great noise-cancellation headphone with decent sound
    • This headphone lives upto expectaions, possibly exceeds it
    • In general, I tend to favor Sony's typical headphone sound profile, which strikes me as flat down to fairly low bass frequencies, so I suppose I have a bias since I bought my first pair of decent cans (MDR-V6s) in college many years ago.
    • I love this headphone
    • It supports both the HFP/HSP (which allows the headphones to act like a hands-free headset and allows you to play/pause music and change tracks) and the A2DP (which allows the headphones to simply receive audio) profiles
    • Honestly the best headphones on the market for noise canceling
    • These are hands down the best wireless noise cancelling headphones currently available
    • They are awesome headphones but they are not loud.
    • Overall, these headphones are feature rich and would impress most anyone, but I had to return them
    • AMAZING headphones, but they ended up having the headband crack after about a year, thinking it has something to do with the build materials.
    • Without noise cancelation on, the headphones do lack some depth particularly in bass, so while they could be better there compared to the B&O's I tried, I plan on mostly listening to music with
    • The Sony MDR-1000x headphones are definitely an ear saver when used on the plane and in server rooms
    • I was initially hesitant to buy noise cancelling headphones because I used to think that active noise cancelling headphones sound bad and they are not effective at blocking out people's voices
    • I have the QC15's and enjoyed those headphones, but I found sound quality lacking.
    • The Sonys are by no means audiophile grade, but they sound like good $150 wired headphones, whereas the Bose sound like a sub-$100 pair of regular headphones to me
    • Swiping on the side of the right headphone allows for easy volume adjustment, but your hand must be placed on or very close to the side of the headphone for it to mute your content
    • I love these headphones.
    • I have treated these headphones very gently but the headband broke at the hinge
    • I have owned multiple Bose noise cancelling headphones over the
    • These headphones are great for the on the go, air line traveler, subway surfer who cares about music
    • These are hands down the best sounding headphones ever
    • I have a normal size guy head, but these headphones are uncomfortable.
    • Most modern headphones do OK with this though, except earbuds that have a smaller rechargeable cell
    • The most important thing for me when it comes to full-sized headphones is comfort.
    • Purchased a second pair from here for a friend because I enjoyed these headphones so much.
    • This new pair is over the ear and is the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn.
    • I dropped my bose headphones more than a few times and they still work like a champ
    • To be fair, I should say that the first two problems are due to the BT technology itself not the sony, other wireless headphone also have these problems or maybe even worse (both wire and wireless mode have bad sound)
    • However, I will say again that I know this is a preference thing, but boy, do I find it ever annoying.------------------- Original Review -----------------------As a frequent world traveler, I have extensive experience with noise cancelling headphones.
    • Not sure why I held out purchasing noise cancelling headphones for so long, but I constantly kick myself for making poor decisions
    • Overall, this headphone might feel great when you first put on
    • These simple to pair and set up wireless headphones solve more problems than I could imagine
    • The headphones definitely sound more anemic when powering them from your phone or headphone amp via the included 3.5mm cable
    • Great noise cancelling headphones, watched several YouTube videos about various headphones
    • Best headphones I have ever tested or owned - hands down.
    • These are better than most other headphones both wired and wireless.
    • I've had a pair of the most expensive Beyerdynamic headphones which were flat as flat can be.
    • The touch control makes this beautiful headphone useless in my opinion
    • I don't typically write reviews but these headphones are fantastic
    • Great premium headphones
    • These are my favorite noise cancelling headphones on the market as of November 2, 2016 BY FAR
    • This is the first noise cancelling headphone I ever
    • Headphone are great but there is one HUGE problem with them - when listening via bluetooth on my Mac or iPhone sound level is drastically lower and can't be fixed
    • I read somewhere one way to combat motion sickness when traveling (airplanes, car, train) is to where noise cancelling headphones
    • headphones totally quit working 4 days after the 30 day return period.
    • All-in-all, these are some good headphones, but I'll be sticking to the Bose for the audio quality and comfort.
    • I love these headphones, with a big EXCEPT: the volume does not go very loud.
    • MDR 1000x excel in this area, having owned and used headphones for my music production study and works with brands like AKG, Shure, Sony, Audio Technica etc
    • Where Sony really outclasses Bose:- You can put your hand over the right headphone cup and it turns the volume down, and it also turns off noise cancelling while you hold your hand there so you can listen and talk to
    • Will help protect the headphones
    • Sony 1000X is a great noise-cancellation headphone with decent sound
    • Thanks to these fantastic headphones I can enjoy my music and movies in perfect peace and don't need to blast the volume, even with my own truck or trucks beside me running loudly
    • The reviews for the bose said they were the most comfortable headphones, but I read many reviews talking about broken power buttons and lack of quality in both design and sound
    • Compared to the QC25s, the Sony MDR1000X headphones are more comfortable, have a better battery life, and do just as good a job, if not better, at blocking sound out
    • Though overall, the best way to see what headphone is right for you is to try them out in person, but for now it looks like I'll be keeping these!
    • I love these headphones
    • These headphones are rich in features and work extremely well for the typical user and perhaps those who are a bit crazy about their sound quality.
    • I can’t recommend these headphones enough
    • These headphones aren't comfortable around the nick- if this is important for you to
    • I love these headphones, noise cancelling is great and they are comfortable for long periods of time
    • This headphone creates wonders when paired to my Sony Xperia X Performance via LDAC, A must have.
    • the bulky microphone inline with the headphones looks terrible and it still doesn't do the job like a big pair of NC over-ear cans do like these
    • I don't think I'll recommend any Sony headphones for a good while for anyone
    • Great headphone for about 20 hours.
    • IMO.Overall if you want amazing noise canceling headphones and you don't listen to bass heavy music or don't mind having an average bass level then these are the headphones for you
    • I would probably keep using 5$ headphones instead, way more comfortable and no sound leakage
    • The noise cancelling feature works about as well, and music quality didn't seem to be diminished at all compared to non-noise cancelling headphones
    • I have owned multiple noise cancelling headphones in the past.
    • This was my main reason to buying expensive headphones since I travel a lot, and I'm more than satisfied
    • These headphones are good
    • even my 5$ random headphone I bought from retail store doesn't leak even close to this on maximum volume
    • If Sony fixes the fitment issues, they'll have the best headphones on the market.
    • As they are the 1000X are really good headphones but are by no means perfect.
    • I bought these headphones because (1) I am a student (2) I work in libraries / at my cubicle at school (3) in-ear headphones were hurting my ears
    • Conclusion:Both headphones are excellent in their own respect
    • This headphones is far better than the bose qc35 in my opinion but the durability issues make it hard to recommend
    • I frequently used to have the cable ripped out of my Bose headphones while working because it would get caught up on my chair's armrest.
    • I wish it had dedicated buttons for volume up/down (I don't like swiping as sometimes I have accidentally cut the call)
    • went to best buy before Black Friday to try out the 1000x and QC35 from BOSE.1000x has higher clamp force - but not as that uncomfortable as others describe
    • I found that -- PXC550 had an evenly beautiful sound but somewhat veiled/warm, the mighty bass drum blow in "Dies ire" did not shock as on the 1000X, and the harp arpeggio in the beginning of Nutcracker Waltz was hazy on the PXC550, but delicately clear on the 1000X.
    • Everything works exactly as it claims to
    • Sony has a pocket inside for the airplane adapter, then a mesh pocket on the outside for a cord (which I don't like as it tends to snag when you're stuffing the thing inside a bag - would have rather just had the pocket on the inside)
    • I'm coming from the MDR-1A, which had a phenomenal soundstage that you could hear and feel distances with, but they started creaking as you moved your head
    • As for me, I would never be ignorant or inconsiderate as to communicate with someone in such a manner, and I would expect the same consideration in return.
    • B&O attempted the same capacitive touch technology on the H7 and failed miserably
