this Sony has been reliable and took care of what the more expensive former Onkyo 7.1 channel had with more issues involving HDMI cabling between components

My +10 year old Onkyo TX-SR500 (65 watts x 5 channels) died and I bought this Sony STRDH550 (145W x 5 channels) to replace it.

My old Onkyo lost two channels and the HDMI pass through was starting to go.

The Onkyo was expensive, had THX capability, was highly configurable, had powered Zone 2, and was great while it lasted.

Comments and answers stated that this is 4K compliant and supported HDCP 2.2.It [u]DOES

The biggest PITA issue this has outside of some issues with true 4K pass-through mentioned in other reviews is that when you power up and select the input you want to hear it will for some unknown reason revert to the optical audio cable if that is hooked up and you will have to manually switch it back when you loose sound after the first 30 seconds of viewing
