It's a great price, the amplification is nice and sounds fairly strong although it is annoyingly irregular in balancing speech to effects/music in movies played 2-ch stereo off netflix or what have you... since i am not using HDMI to route netflix, i can't use the menu to configure the sound (which shouldn't have to be done over and over anyway)

First the Pros:- Cheap, at $138.00 (on Black Friday sale), no other 5.2 channel amplifier is priced this low.- Good power, the Sony outputs enough power to make my home theatre system sound impressively loud- 2 sub woofer outputs; My system needs 2 subs to even out the bass and this works well

So in summary, it may have a few little annoyances, but all in all the STRDH550 is a great receiver at a nice price.

Other than that, I'm very happy with this well priced receiver.

I found a work around for my particular setup, as I too was rather frustrated after purchasing this product
